Background Audio Question

I have 250 (or so) songs I use as my Background Audio. The manual states that the List Window shows the first 200 songs from the open folder. The problem I'm having is that the last 50 songs have been dropped from the List Window and no way to play them through Hoster. If 200 songs is the maximum amount allowable, shouldn't the manual reflect that or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Background Audio Question

I think what they are meaning is you can select any folder but it will only show the first 200 songs in a folder.

What I do myself is I've made a specific folder on my hard drive to store just these BA songs and make sure I don't load more than the 200 in a folder. You can make a couple of these folders up with different types of music to suit your audience and quickly change from one to the other from the BA brows window.

If you want to play an odd song once in a while thats not in one of the folders then it's best to load one into the playlist from the Audio Tab.

Re: Background Audio Question

Thanks, Roy. I also keep my BA files in a separate folder. The only problem is that pesky 200 song limit. Guess I'll have to clean house!

Re: Background Audio Question

When you think about it, If you get about 50 singers up in a night in a 4 hour show which must be average, you should only need 1 infill song per singer which again would be 50 so 200 is a fair margin.

To add to the above statement I now have all my mp3 files indexed in Hoster so I can quickly use search and find an mp3 song if someone requests it and play that from the playlist in between singers.

Re: Background Audio Question

True, Roy. The only thing I would like to see is that the manual states somewhere that the 200 number is the max and that beyond 200 you need to create another folder. I guess I just needed to complain about something today.

I had to chuckle about that a bit. Let's see BA was added back in 4.10 and I know Admin has not changed that part of the manual probably since that time...and you are just now figuring that out....

Re: Background Audio Question

I expanded the "Background Audio Player Use first point to be:

1. The List Window shows only the first 200 songs from the open folder (songs 201 and higher will NOT appear in this llist window). You can create multple folders with background audio songs and select the one you want to play now. Remember to keep the number of songs to 200 or less in each folder.

Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for helping us correct this for others.
