Re: Strange Happenings

Walt,
Got to C:\MTU\Hoster and find file named HosterInfo.ini and change the extension on this file to .ooo as this file contains the song folders list.
Then delete the Songs.mdb file and open Hoster. Go to Rebuild and add your C:\ drive folder(s) for your KMA and KMH files and rebuild. This should rebuild and also recreate that file with correct information.

Thanks Dale. I'll get it a try. I did discover late last night that the files that won't open unless I have the G drive connected are all duplicate files. Joe asked if these files were on my C drive and yes they are. Even when I rebuild the C drive these files aren't recognized unless the G drive is connected. Since they are duplicates I plan to delete them and remove them from my songbook. I'm afraid I'm heading to a situation that I am going to have to reprint all my songbooks do to the rebuilding. Anyway I appreciate all the help and Dale I will do what you just suggested and get back to you with the results. It still is a mystery how this happened from the program working beautiful until I shut it down and a few days later when running Hoster these problems came to light. Keep in mind as I previously stated, the backup drive G was not connected during this time frame. Also why would the backup computer duplicate this problem. I had not even turned it on in over month. I find this really strange.

Thanks Guys,

Walt

Re: Strange Happenings

Hey Walt, you don't have to redo your books if those files show as duplicates in G:\ and they are available in drive C:\ ...if they all have different BookID's.

When you complete your rebuild and they show up again from your C:\ drive write down the "BookID" number for each song and make sure they Play from your PlayList, then with the list of BookID numbers from the files in drive C:\ go to yours books and manually cross out any duplicates that don't match the list..

Anothere thing you can do is open the old song.mdb that was giving you trouble in Access,

1. Once opened move to the right till the "Path" column is the first column on the left edge of the window.
2. Click top "Path" column tab "Arrow pointing down" and choose "A To Z" sort.
3. Scroll down till you find the first file that starts with G:\ Drive.
4. Click the first G:\ listing on the outer edge Box to highlight it, then use the "Down Arrow" in the window on the lower right to scroll down to the last G:\ listing.
5. Holding the "Shift Key" click on the outer edge Box on the last G:\ listing, they all should highlight.
6. Holding down the "Shift Key" right click and choose copy.
7. Now open Wordpad and paste and print those listings so you have exactly all the "BookID's" and know what needs to be fixed.
8. Also with all the "BookID's" on hand you may be able to alter your books a little instead.

Good Luck,
Joe....
