Re: Datatbase problem

You need to rebuild your database (Tools/Songs Database). This will remove the song files you deleted from the songs database.

If you are going to delete songs, the best way is from the Edit tool. This will delete the KMA file and also remove it from the Songs Database.

Question Re: Database problem

I imported songs to Microstudio (4.21) to create disks of my own to take with me to karaoke shows hosted by a friend of mine pior to buying my own HOSTER program. The songs are imported originally as *.cda - which (I understand) converts to *.bin during the importing to Microstudio as *.kma file.

Question: How does the HOSTER program handle importing already imported .kma files? Nothing comes up when I try to ADD files from HD - as the files are apparently flagged as already imported and KMA file types are not listed as a potential import source from the HD.

Thanks in advance for prompt response.

Let me clear up a misconception you have. First Microstudio imports .CDA files from a CDG (karaoke) disc as .BIN files. Microstudio can list and play all the common karaoke formats (BIN, KMA, MP3+G, WMA+G, ZIP, etc.) However Microstudio does not convert any files to KMA. Only Hoster can create those.

Since Microstudio doesn't create or convert any files to KMA. Files imported through Microstudio are in the BIN (binary) format. So you have to look for BIN files. When you import those to Hoster then the KMA files are created and added to the whatever folder you store your KMA files in. This does not remove or destroy the original BIN file when you do this.

You can either import them from the BIN files into Hoster or go back to the original CDs and import from CD.

If you want to burn any of those types of files back to a CD then they are converted and burned to the CD as CDA files. This is the same format your original discs are in. The thing Microstudio does is let you create and burn custom discs with the songs you want to take with you.

In other words you don't have to import your CDs into Microstudio because to create your custom discs to take to other shows.

What version of Hoster are you using?
