Why Can't I Upgrade????

Tried several times now - had to actually upgrade to 3.321 and I apparently had to have installed 4.0 to get to 4.06? At any rate, I was having a screen color problem and when I did the upgrade to 3.321 that corrected....so even though I'm not able to upgrade all the way to 4.06, my screen discoloration issue has been solved.

I'd really like to do the upgrade since I have the whole kaboodle set up in my office. Anybody give me any hints about whether I have to actually install a 4.0 version? And where do I find that if I do?

(Gosh, it took me forever to get the nerve to mess with any upgrades, and now when I want to, it isn't letting me!!!!!)

just click on download and click on buy upgrade make sure you do all the updates first custom and recommended, before you upgrade do not get the netframe 3.5 update, some had, and some did not have problems with it..and also make sure to follow the recommended changes if your running vista..this is a must !!!!!

thanks - I'm so STOOOOOPID about computers. No idea about thet netframe thing. I tried to run 3.321 and don't know what happened to my library - had a problem with merging the database with some sort of parameter issue. So am running the windows upgrade right now, will attempt to upgrade to 4.06 - hopefully this is an immediate thing?

I'm just feeling a LITTLE stressed right now with songs not locatable, a show tomorrow night, a husband who is less computer literate then me and wants to go back to discs.

just make sure you follow all the recommended changes if you're running vista, admin. says " this is a must " for hoster 4xxx to run right.

a lot of people have had the same feelings when doing upgrdes caused of the glitches they read in the forum, even i had the same ,that's why it took me this long to upgrade from 3.317 to 4.05-06, but mtu and the beta testers did their very best , they worked so hard to fix all these problems, and to give us most of the features we wanted...so hang in there.., about your missing songs, i havent experienced that problem so i am not able to help you with that...sorry

Karen, anytime there is a major version change (ie from 3.3xx to 4.0xx) then we have to buy it. This is not a free upgrade. Go to the MTU web site and click on the Video Hoster 4.06 section. There you will find an Upgrade price and a Buy button.
Do not remove 3.321 before you install the 4.06 Upgrade. It is required to be there now to do this. As Billyo said be sure you do all the upgrading and changes to your computer listed as required before you complete the upgrade so everything will run smoothly.
Since you have a show tomorrow night I would recommend you not upgrade until after the show in case something doesn't go right.

Thanks - finally figured out where the buy button was ... LOL ... Did all M/S updates, downloaded 4.06, and PRESTO! Hoster. Didn't have any problem with the database after downloading. Will just run it bare bones tomorrow night and work on learning all of the fancy stuff during the week.

I thought it was going to come loaded with the insta buttons - how disappointing that I have to do my own! Do like the marquis, though.

Thanks for all the advice.

Afraid you have to set up your own Instabuttons just like the rest of us.Glad you were able to get it working. I started to mention not to mess with the database until you upgraded. I also had a couple (actually 10) problem files with the later 3.3 versions, but it all cleared with 4.00.
