Yes, I do understand what you mean about computers seeming to take on a "personality" of their own! I wonder if the Programmers understand them better than us Users I still feel that I will have less problems to deal with once I know how to fix all the "common" problems!

Billyo - You really should at least upgrade to 3.321. That was out months ago with a multitude of fixes. That's the latest out while everyone was waiting for 4.0.

That's 50% of those who reported it to PC World. Not 50% who installed. This is not an accurate figure.

Human nature. When something works well you rarely mention it to anyone. When something doesn,t work well you tend to tell everyone.

These forums are a good example. On here, there are maybe 20 people at any one time with an issue, leading an observer to believe there are lots of problems, trouble is there are many thousands of users with no problems who never post that in the forums, so you don't get a balanced view of things as they are.

Sort of like "the squeaky wheel gets the grease", if you don't squeak, you don't get noticed.

She reformated and re-loaded XP SP2. Installed IE7 and is going to install SP3. If SP3 had been causing her problem with the script error then we would all have it.
Please do not put partial facts out to try to scare people away from a necessary update to their computers just because you had a problem with it. The same things were said when SP2 came out. Any major upgrade like this is going to cause problems for a few people who will eventually get it fixed and working.
