MP3+G Bad Zip File (2) Error

I recently started paying for MP3+G files and loading them into Hoster. I have to unzip the MP3 and CDG files then rezip them into a new zip file in order for them to load/play in Hoster. 99% of the files load/play with no problems. 1% of the files will not load/play due to a "Bad Zip File (2)" error, according to Hoster. The zip file works in my zip program and MP3 file plays with no erros. Can anybody please tell me exactly what the "Bad Zip File (2)" is refering to?

Probably a "MAX" compression has been used for zipping.

Open the Hoster Manual and paste this URL into the Address field and go to it:

The #ZIPWarning is the key section to access and read.

Thanks for the quick response! When I rezip the MP3 file and the CDG file I am using the same compression I use on the MP3+G files that load/play correctlly. The company that I am buying the MP3+G files from have a program that plays MP3+G files. The MP3+G files that do not load/play in Hoster play in their program. Since the zip file works and the MP3 file plays I can only conclude that the problem lies in the CDG file. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

I renamed the MP3 and the CDG files using a shorter file name with no caps (the same exact same name for both files of course) and rezipped them. They now run in Hoster. Thanks again for your help!

NOTE: When renaming the CDG file, the ".cdg" ext. is in the file name example "wind cries.cdg" when renaming the MP3 use no ext. in the file name example "wind cries".

So there is no confusion about renaming the files I want all to know that in the "Folder Options" under the "View" tab I have the box checked that says "Hide extensions for know file types". I had to include .cdg in the file name because this extension is not a know file type.

CDG files using a shorter file name with no caps

I suspect that, since you mentioned CAPS, that that was the actual problem.

An .MP3 extension in CAPS will cause Mp3gToolz to crash. So may cause Hoster to not recognize what to do with the file.

For any Mp3 + Cdg files Imported into Hoster, it is probably best to run the CLEANUP FILES choice in Mp3g+Toolz before Importing. This will CORRECT the CASE on all Files and Extensions.

I downloaded and installed MP3+GToolz 4.0 from ActiveASP Software:

I download all of the MP3+G files that I buy into one folder then use MP3+GToolz 4.0 to "Convert Zip To Audio+G". Then I use MP3+GToolz 4.0 to "Convert Audio+G To Zip". This makes every zip file in the folder load into Hoster.

I rename the the zip files: (The Wind Cries Mary - Cullum, Jamie) then add them to my database.

Thank you gd123 for telling me about MP3+GToolz. The 4.0 version handled all of the file names regardless of caps and puncuations.

What I ment to say is: This makes it so every zip file can be loaded into Hoster. The zip files do not load into Hoster automatically.
