Importing KMA Files

I own 3 karaoke shows. I use my lap top computer as a backup and the kma'
s are in the external hard drive. I have tried to just copy the new disks to the shows but it messes up the book id#. I do not see in the Hoster manual where I can import The cdg's to one central source and them quickly transfer them to each show. It would be a lot quicker to do it this way rather than have to import the discs into each show. This becomes time consuming. If anyone knows if this is possible Please Help, If not I hope that MTU would consider adding this to the import function

I have used Hoster for 4 years and it has continued to improve. I would not want to go back to using discs to run a show.

this need to be moved to the Hoster help forum

the key to importing is to do it on one computer, print all books from that computer.

then just drag and drop the kma's to any hard drive (external) or computer/laptop. rebuild database and your set to go. the numbers wont change.

they will change if you import from multiple computers.

That is provided you don't change the bookid's to match your system.

Read the manual section on Tools menu, Merge KMA Files command. This allows renumbering duplicate BookIDs... IF they exist in files copied from multiple systems. This will preserve your existing SongBook pages, and merge the new songs into the Songs Database. You can either reprint the SongBook total pages, or print addendum pages of only what was merged in. We retain exactly what songs were added to allow this.

If you import ALL your songs on one computer so there are no duplicate BookIDs, then copy part or all of these files to a second system, then use the Tools menu Build Songs Database command. Make sure you add all folders into the Source Folder list that contain the KMA files. This will not renumber the BookID numbers.

You do own a set of discs for the second system for all files being copied... right?
