assistance from you folks would be appreciated

I love my mtu hoster but i got frustrated a while back and stopped upgrading as I had it stable and just kept with it as at that time the upgrades were causing me nightmares with issue after issue.

I still have the same laptop (with all the windows updates) and the old version of hoster in my signature.. its rock solid and doesnt crash ever.. will the new version work on my laptop or do I need a better spec laptop ?

will all my kma files still work with the new version?

I am very hesitant to change from a rock solid version for me to the new version..BUT i like the idea of all the new toys..

oh and finally I am guessing I have to buy a new version than get a discounted upgrade?

I feel safe in saying that you will have to buy an up grade since you are using a version that is very old. I don't use Windows Vista anymore but it is still supposed to work with the latest versions of Hoster. I can tell you that there is night and day difference between the version you are using and the current version but MTU has done a great job in keeping the look very much the same and added the ability to turn on and off some of the features if you don't want to use them. The latest features in Hoster are great and the little tweaks added make for a really solid program. I would suggest that you upgrade your computer. Even though Vista will work with the latest version of Hoster, the newer computers not only have new versions of windows but there has been advancements in the computer hardware and many now come with more ram which really helps. I have been using Hoster since 2003 and the latest version of Hoster is the best of them all! If you do purchase a new computer, most likely it will have Windows 8 or 8.1 and later this month, Microsoft will be offering a free Windows 10 up grade to these operating systems. I recommend a computer with Intel I3 processors on up or AMD 8 and up.
