Re: Duplicate Songs
When you say "is there a way to delete duplicate kma and kmh if you have imported twice ? "
I would look down the list of folders in the Build Songs Database dialog and see if you have listed a folder that might be a copy or a backup of another that is in the list. Example you could have your kma folder listed and if you had a backup copy of your kma converted to mp3+g or zip in another folder in that list then that could create the duplicates. An exact copy of the kma files is unlikely as Hoster would have reported the fact in the rebuild unless you Pressed the merge duplicate button which then could have renumbered them. If you do find a suspect folder you can use the Exclude folder button to remove it from the database which will remove all the songs in it from the songs.mdb without actually deleting them from your hard drive. Also any folders in the Exclude folders list will not return to the imported files list until you remove them from that list.

Re: Duplicate Songs
roy,
i think when they switched there method of importing before MP3g it was confusing on how to import and thats when i think i was importing songs as kmh and then went back and imported the same folders as kma. would it import a second time if it was already imported in a different file format (kma & kmh) ???

Re: Duplicate Songs
It would depend on if you included the Disc ID in the define field order when you imported the kmh types. If you then tried importing the kma with the same Disc ID it would probably reject it as a duplicate but if you set the define field order to just Title - Artist and ignored any Disc Id then it would just import all the kma files again unless their Book ID matched.
It only recognizes duplicates if a Disk ID or Book ID is identical, it has nothing to do with the same Artist Title.

Re: Duplicate Songs
Just wondering now as you are saying you import your MP3+g files as kma files.
When you do that Hoster creates a complete new file (the kma file) but the original MP3+G file is still in it's original folder. Do you save the newly created kma files in a separate folder from the original mp3+g ?

Re: Duplicate Songs
I have just been testing this and it is possible to have a kma file and a kmh file of the same track in the same folder and both import and play as normal, meaning duplicate entry.
Normally when you select to import as kma an extra save to window appears at the top right for you to select a folder to save these types in, I attach pic showing extra Save to window. This does not appear when you import as kmh types as the kmh header has to remain in the same folder as the original file. If you saved your original kma files to the same folder as their original mp3+g file this could possibly lead to accidently creating a duplicat of the file. It shouldn't happen under normal conditions because the folder containing the mp3+g files creates an importedFiles.txt file so stops a file being imported again but if you select to not hide indexed tracks in the import hard drive files dialog then it can as I just tried it. So if you definitely have the kma in the same folder as the mp3+g files I should try and separate them to their own folder. If you want to know a way of doing that let me know. As I stated before this is not the case with kmh which must remain with the original file. Another little tip, if you ever do a rebuild database unless you are trying to add new songs at the same time always make sure none of the "Song Types to Index" buttons are highlighted as if it finds any of the highlighted types in the rebuild it will import those as well which could be another way you may have inadvertently imported the duplicates.
