Search Field is "maximized". Can't see "DUR" "TITLE" "SINGERS" etc
I'm running version 5.04.
For some reason, on my display I can only see the status field. I can add several songs and it will list each one, but instead of seeing what I normally see (the upcoming songs, singers, time, etc), I only see "READY" on each line. On the preview screen and the singers display, it does show the next 3 singers/songs/time as I have it set to do. But I can't see what's happening next to be able to delete upcoming songs or move any around. I know that the fields are able to be resized. I've resized each of the fields many times in the past. My initial thought was just that the field had to be resized smaller so the others would fit. But this wasn't the case. The Status field is "maximized". I can go to the bottom of the screen and scroll all the way over to the right (quite some distance) and am not able to resize it. The status field is the ONLY field that exists. I can't resize it from the far right, or far left. I've tried double-clicking it, right clicking...nothing. I've reset the display settings. I've compared every single setting on this computer to several others that are and aren't mine. I uninstalled and reinstalled hoster and same! I contact MTU and their response was " The only thing that could cause the other would be the fonts changed. Go to the Tools Menu, Show Display. Then find the Intermission button, and select Singer down at the bottom, under the Singers Name display box. Make sure the color is not set to the same as your background. If so this could be the issue, also do this on the Lyrics button." I seriously doubted this would work...but tried it anyway, and it didn't work. I'm not willing to upgrade on a Saturday at 5:30pm. Fortunately, I can still function by just writing down and keeping a manual list. I've learned the hard way about 10 times with upgrading before a busy weekend and running into tons of big problems. When the last upgrade came out where they said "this promises to be the safest upgrade ever..." or something to that sort, I had more problems than ever. SO, I'll try upgrading in a few days when I have time to work out the bugs. Just wondering how to fix this issue...that shouldn't be caused by failing to upgrade. All windows updates are done, etc. |

Re: Search Field is "maximized". Can't see "DUR" "TITLE" "SINGERS" etc
The best reply I can think of is to restore your computer to an earlier time when it was working right. (programs/accessories/System tools/System restore) select an earlier time that was before this problem appeared, this action is reversible if it doesn't resolve the problem.
Other than than that Delete the registry keys http://www.mtu.com/faq-test.php?article=26 the problem in doing this you will lose all your previouse settings, it will be as if you were installing for the first time so it may be advisable to make a back up of your Hoster folder first so that you can recover any files that may be lost.

Re: Search Field is "maximized". Can't see "DUR" "TITLE" "SINGERS" etc
Try this: open the registry as in my previous post after opening the Default folder scroll down the list in the right hand window till you find "PlaylistStatusColWidth" if you look to the right hand side of that there should be a # in enclosed brackets (xx). Right click on the name PlaylistStatusColWidth and a window pops up, choose Modify, then tick radio button Decimal then enter a number about 75 click OK close registry by X out. Now open Hoster and see if the column has returned to normal.
These instructions were tested with my 5.07 version but must be similar on your 5.04 version. I attach a picture of the registry key in question.

Re: Search Field is "maximized". Can't see "DUR" "TITLE" "SINGERS" etc
Unfortunately, I won't have access to that computer until Wednesday! IF this fixes it, what could have happened to create the problem? The computer is dedicated just for karaoke. An occasional FB check or Internet search, but nothing else.

Re: Search Field is "maximized". Can't see "DUR" "TITLE" "SINGERS" etc
Have no idea what could have caused this problem, it is a unique issue to you as I can't recall any others reporting a problem of this type.
Just hoping editing that one registry key will solve the problem. Just to add to earlier reply, if you have windows 7, getting to the regisry is a bit different, just type regedit.exe in the search box that appears at the bottom of the screen, you should see the file appear at the top of the page, just clicck it to start the registry editor, where in the other instructions is states to press the + sign, in windows 7 it appears as a pointer not a +. Best of luck.
