data base stops

when rebuilding my data base on my vista laptop it stops at 4800 and say hoster not responding, when i have over 10,000 on the external hard drive, if i rebuild on my desk top with the extrernal HD all files show, desktop is Xp can anyone help?

Are your song files in more than one folder on the external drive? If so are all the folders listed in the rebuild database screen?
If so then check the following thread. This has to do with the Songbook, buit you can apply the same changes to the External drive folders to allow access to those files.
