Why .kma?
Can I run Hoster with my collection of MP3+G.zips? I have a large collection of songs as zips... Converting them is kind of a problem, because of the disk space involved (and I don't want to erase my zips) I'm currently bouncing between three different karaoke softwares. While trying to get my collection back under control I deleted 14GB of dupe songs outta CB alone. In the .kma naming convention there really isn't an easy way to know what song it is outside of Hoster... Is there a major benefit to the .kma format? Have I missed a way to use my zips in Hoster? Thanks!

First the KMA format is a compression format that has a much better, truer quality of sound than MP3.
However, as I understand it, since MP3+G zipped files are already compressed, when you import them into Hoster the audio is not recompressed, just renamed to .KMA. Please note though that Hoster cannot work with max compressed zip files. If your files are compressed with that campression you will have to uncompress and recompress them at a normal level. When you convert them Hoster creates copies and does not do any thing to the originals, so you will need to have enough drive space to duplicate the files.

Loading your MP3+G files into Hoster adds them to the database. This make them available to through search feature of the program and allows them to show up in your Hoster Songbooks.
Another note about Hoster and MP3+G compression. As Dale said "Please note though that Hoster cannot work with max compressed zip files." Also if your MP3+G zip files have NO COMPRESSION on them they will not load into Hoster. I use the minimum compression setting on the zip program and all works great. I Hope This Helps Jim
