Re-Import Problem

Ok. I have a good one for our experts (Admin, DClark, Bryan, Bob, George, GaryC, Gdun, Sam, and anyone else I forgot.) See if you guys come up with the same results.
Setup: I am trying to re-import all of my CDGs, since for the most part they were imported several versions of Hoster earlier with a lot less error correction. I didn't want to overwrite my existing set of KMAs, so pointed the import folder to a new location. However, I do not wish to have to retype in all of the ones that I already did, because they weren't in the database. In order to do this I left the songs database pointing to the original folder. This also gives me the correct BookID as well.
Problem: Even though the folder for the import location is set to new location, this is ignored and imported to original location overwriting the original. Or if I rebuild the database pointing to new location then I don't have the data for the ones previously typed in. Any ideas?

Don't really understand the purpose of reimporting all the cdg's.

Wouldn't copying and pasting the KMA's to another folder achieve the same result?

No, because the program has changed and has greatly increased error correction to eliminate graphic problems. Most of the glitches I have are minor but annoying, so re-importing from the originals with latest Hoster should clear those up. Also, I have some that are multiplexed and were done with work around (not the cleanest import either). This is to re-import my master copy of my KMAs. When this is done then I will copy them to my show machine. Its just easier to go through them all and eliminate any minor problems at once.

Well then, if the newer Hoster is going to improve your existing KMA's and you're working on a computer other than the show machine, why the reluctance to replace existing KMA's?

That's the whole purpose isn't it... to replace KMA's?

I don't know??? I wanted to start the folder anew so I could edit out some duplicates, separate out those with vocal and a few other things. My main concern here though is the fact that the folder selection is being ignored by the program without any indication.

I recently deleted all but two of my KMA files as I only use them to test with in situations like this.

My KMA folder is directly on C: for faster access. It is called HOSTER SONGLIST.

I just created a new folder Called HOSTER TEST.

HOSTER SONGLIST containes two tracks from a S.C. disc.

I got out the same disc and went to Import and changed the target folder to HOSTER TEST.

Then I put in the Brand and disc number information.

It read the disc and showed the first two tracks as imported.

I ignored that, clicked the two track boxes and the message changed from IMPORT to READY. I told it to process the selected tracks and it did. I now have two different folders with the same two tracks in them.

Then I went to REBUILD DATABASE and selected HOSTER TEST( both folders were showing)...It did the rebuild and advised me that duplicate disd ID's were detected, which I expected.

I don't know what the situation would be with unknown brands...might have to type everything in. I'll try one whan I get more time.
