![]() Hey
Has anyone out there had any trouble with this. My problems started when my laptop was stolen from work, Having finally got all the software reinstalled (Thanks MTU) I then couldn't see all my KMA db on my new system (Vista Home) but fixed thanks to another thread. I now find that when I go to a folder that I hadn't imported previously I see the folder and files but when I try to import them I get the blank screen you normally get if you click on a folder that has already been imported. There are no text files with file listings but I have noticed that the Zip files keep reverting to read only, is this a Vista feature and is this the cause? I am fast running out of things to try! Help! |

Yes it is a Vista problem. I assume you have turned off the UAC as listed for not being able to see kma files. There are two things you can try that might help.
One is easy. Find the Hoster.exe file, right click on it and (I believe) under properties you can set the program file to always run in administrator mode. The second thing is to go to the folder in question, right click on it and go to properties, then (again I believe it is) in the security tab you can set it so Hoster is allowed to see the files. Not real sure where exactly this one is as I don't have a machine with Vista on it yet.

No luck. I wonder if M/soft could be persuaded to give me an upgrade to XP! In addition to your suggestions I've tried copying the zips to a second usb hard drive and a usb memory stick and also tried to import from to the main c: drive and tried to import the original CD+G Disc and .bin files. I feel I am flogging a dead horse! If I were to install XP would the software reg still recognize the machine as the same one? PS. My mother's maiden name was Douglass, not a common spelling! No the reg code would think it is a different machine. If you have installed on 2 already, you will need to submit a ticket to get the registry reset for the reload. ![]() I remember someone in here managed to fix it by creating a new folder and copying the files to it, but since you tried that too guess that is a bust. Have you tried unzipping them and see if that will work to import as MP3+G instead of zipped? ![]() You obviously have a wonderful mother since she came from great Scottish stock. ![]()

Have you ever run a system with dual boot? I only have it installed on the one machine. I might just get a second computer in XP and keep this as an emergency backup. ![]() ![]() Cheers Albert |

I haven't used dual boot personally but it does work. My son used a XP/Linux dual boot system with no problems.
