I agree with you. I don't think they are any better that any other ones. I think around here a few KJ's had lots of DK and that is what they are used to.

I can't figure out why anyone would think they were that great. The company is from Hongkong. I would suspect the licenses for those since they are notorious for producing knock-offs or copies of other peoples work without a license.

Could very well be that's what they cut their karaoke teeth on.

When I started, Pioneer lasers were the primary disc (seemed to be a west coast thing) & DK seemed to dominate the eastern side. When I finally heard of DK, I thought their music was complete garbage, but those who started with them thought the same of the Pioneer. You get used to what you hear first. I have some older absolute crap versions of some songs (weren't ever out on other brands at that time) but they got sang. When I got very good versions, I tried to replace, the die hards that learned on the old version still request THAT version over the obviously better version.

If I'm not mistaken I think DK is the one that has a synthesized melody line of the lead vocal. It's kind of faint but it's there and some people might like having that there to guide them when they forget how the song goes.

Just a thought!

I prefer Sound Choice myself. I do have about 35 DK in my selection. But I use them second to Sound Choice.
