Hoster laptop computer

I purchased a hoster laptop computer with hoster 2.127 for $2,967.00 on 05/24/2004 order #15934 the headphome-out jack just got broke I took it to Bellvue computer in Corvallis OR and they said they can't fix it that in a laptop I need a new mother board. Is this for real. Can I put hoster on another computer? Where do I send my prostar to get fixed I bought from MTU? I need help I do a Sunday night show every week at the American Legion Post #10 in Albany Or.

usually you have to contact the original mfg'r. and they send yu a box to ship it back for a new motherboard.

It'll probably cost you megabucks, and you may be out a laptop (or at least that one) for aas much as 7 days.

Looks like you might be back on cd-g's for a while.

I would agree with lmcmains and horseshoe.

You can get an external (USB) Soundblaster card for less than $50
If you go that route I'd recomend using the RCA L/R outs instead of the headphone jack. Sounds better IMHO.

Thanks everyone for the help Support center send me a link for a PCMCIA sound blaster card for notebook computers that will work on my computer and I am running Hoster V3.312 now. looking forward to getting microstudio V3.000 so I can burn those kma files in hoster.

Unfortunately this for real. The headphone jack is attached directly to the motherboard. Motherboards for computers today are all multilayer boards which require special equipment to be able to work on them. Your ordinary everyday shop is not equiped for this. Making the easiest and cheapest repair being to replace the motherboard.
I don't have one of these laptops so I can't say for sure but doesn't it have a line-out jack other than the headphone?

You can install Hoster on up to 2 computers. If you already have it on 2 uninstall it from the laptop and install it on the other computer you are going to use. Since you haven't upgraded hoster in a while I hope you have a copy of install program and registration information for it or plan to upgrade.

I bought a PCMCIA sound card for my laptop. It works very well, and has all the output connections. I would recommend going that route and see if it won't be both cheaper and faster.
