i had to returned the dvd/cd lite-on e-z dub that my friend bought , the problem was it gets too hot ,ive tried to look for a replacement..i showed them the list of drives that hoster supports and i was told that most of the drives on the list are not in the market anymore or they dont carry it , can someone tell me any external drive that is in the market now..she has a plextor 716 too thats giving her problems now..it wont import most of the time..firmware is updated and still doing the same thing..

What version of Hoster or Microstudio? Both programs that are out currently have problems with the Plextor drives, but beta testing is in the works on fixes for the problem, so be patient. MTU is looking to get it out by October 30...if all goes well.

In the previous post, it is stated that the current version of Hoster is having problems with Plextor drives? Is this true? One, I thought MTU promoted and supported Plextor drives; and two, my Plextor Premium is getting ...tired. I would like to replace it with either another Plextor Premium, or preferably a Plextor 760. Should I wait for the fix?

Hey Daryl, Sam here.

3.310 & 11 has a problem with some Plextor drives (not all of them) taking up to a minute to read the disk TOC, but otherwise works OK.

3.312 tentatively due out before the end of Oct will correct this problem as well as fix a couple minor bugs and add a couple of minor features.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Sam
