What a weekend we had without Hoster!

My pc crashed so I needed an emergency re-install...
Now that we survived without it, instead of re-installing hoster-lite I better want to upgrade to full-hoster. This way we’ll have a backup copy.
Please help me out ASAP... Weekend's coming up and I don't have anything to work with.
Thanks a lot MTU.

I cannot yet understand why most of us do not invest in a cheap karaoke machine as a backup to use with the discs. At some point you all must have been using discs before Hoster was available anyway and should own one. Or did everyone on here jump right to Hoster without ever using discs in the first place?

Beav, what's your opinion on this?

i built a dedicated computer for hoster. i never have had any problems while doing an upgrade.

i never upgrade the minute the newest version comes out, i sit back and see what problems arise here first . then i decide if im going to upgrade to the latest version or wait until the problems are worked out.

i got to be honest with you bryant, i do have a cd-g player from before but i dont have it hooked up incase of an emergency.

the only problem i have encountered with my computer was one time the wave volume got turned way down (dont know how it happened) and it sounded like crap, i was to busy that night to be thinking quick. the next morning when i came in i sat down and realized it was the wave volume being to low.

but to really answer your question, if i were doing gigs on the road, i would have my back up computer in the car or a plan B for keeping the night going.

i guess the best set for hoster would be 2 laptops with an external drive for Kma's they are light weight and easy to transport. this way if one laptop fails you only have to fire up the back up one.

We started offering karaoke back on 1997. I remember how hard was for our KJ to explain costumers how to deal with it every night (back then a few people knew how it worked).
Last weekend we hooked our old cdg players and worked the night out (as we used to, for many years… no big deal!)
Of course our client noticed it. Our show wasn’t as good as they expected (some disc were damaged, our staff was nervous, show was very slow… ) And, on top of it, most of our menus does not include discID/Track number anymore… now you know what I’m saying?
Well, we survived and now I don’t want to have another show like this without Hoster.

I don't understand. You have ordered a FULL Hoster, as well as a LITE version. Only the Lite has been installed. Did MTUSUPPORT already help you?

I'd install the Hoster version and create a second computer for a backup.

Post here if you can't do that and give me a specific request of what you want us to do. I'm at a loss why you aren't running the full Hoster version.

I ordered and installed full hoster in our place. So far we’ve had no problem at all.
Then we ordered hoster lite for mobile-karaoke and had a pc crashed problem a weeks ago, which has been already solved thanks to Bryan from mtu support.
Thanks a lot for all your help.
