Download failed to work (Hoster 3.300)

Downloaded Hoster 3.300 from MTU Karaoke store Order Information download link. when download was complete it showed 20.0 MB. I doubled clicked on setup.exe and was asked if I would like to run program. I clicked YES and nothing happened. I then tried to redownload from download link and nothing happened . I have tried everthing I can think of

I'm assuming you went through the install process.
If this is a new install you will probably need to reboot first.

The second part of your problem almost sounds like you are using a download accelorator which will use up all your downloads in a matter of seconds, but if that was the case I don't think you'd even get one succesful download.
It could be server problems on MTU's end. I would try again and post back.
And make sure you use Internet Explorer as AOL, Compuserve etc can sometimes have issues.

mindonstrike,

This is an upgrade not a new install. I doubled clicked on the setup.exe and it asked me if I would like to run the program. When I clicked on yes the screen disapeared and nothing happened??? When I click on it now I don't even get the screen that asks if I want to run this program.

I use Earthlinks browser and have never had any problems in the past. On 12/23/05 I downloaded Hoster 3.120 upgrade without any problems. On 12/28/05 I downloaded MIcrostudio 2.611 upgrade without any problem. The next day I downloaded Hoster 3.300 and ran into this problem.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Not sure what to suggest.
The fact that no one else is having this problems makes me think it might be Windows related.
MTU Support will hopefully have some ideas.

Sorry I can't be of any help.

Darwillie,

Actually I am having a similar problem, and have read several others having the same. (I'm also an earthlink user on a cable braodband connection). It's not a download problem as both of us get the download file. Its an install problem.

I am able to download the file, but cannot install as I get an "invalid Win32 application" error message. Tried everything twice. E-mailed support, posted here, and on critical issues forum, but no help yet.

If I get anywhere, I'll let you know. Good luck to us both,
Ken

Don't be so sure about that. Just because the file is downloading doesn't mean it is not getting corrupted.

This looks very much like a firewall or a download accellerator is messing up the file. That's usualy the case with this system 32 message you're getting. Windows does not recognize the file as a valid application. Has nothing to do with the installation program itself failing..

First delete the file from the MTU folder(if that's where you saved it). Be certain to shut off any firewalls or download accelleratorsyou may have installed, and download again.

If the problem persists with your own firewalls shut off, then there's a firewall or download accellerator installed in Earthlink that's interfering.
