Lyric Display output on Laptop

I have a Dell inspiron 6000 running XP Home and Hoster 2.209. It has an S-Video output on the back. I tried using a cable S-Video to RCA but I don't see anything.

Do I need to set up something in my computer settings? In my Hoster settings?

Thank you in advance for any advice!!!

You need to set the display settings from control panel to extended desktop and make sure TV is on BEFORE you boot up.

This link might get you going in the right direction, but otherwise I don't know what the problem would be. http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?...t=dual+display

black & white display on second output (TV)

I have a Dell laptop with a A/V output. The dell came with a adapter for this output. this adapter has: S-video, composite (yellow RCA) and digital audio.
I am running a TV as a singer monitor. I too get the black & white on the TV but the laptop display is colored. I went to the wedsite listed just above on this thread. I don't think my laptop has a scart out. Please explain your setup as I don't want to buy a $100 item, wait for it to arrive and find that I can't use it. I have already been though the typical replacement mill and I know its the computer making it black & white. Yesterday, I got it to go color, today no luck. Thanks.

Cable problem.

Hi,
I bought my HP nx7000 a year ago now and i recieved a svideo to svideo cable which worked great connecting to the TV svideo in slot. However after purchasing a svideo to rca cable i only got black and white no matter what i tried.I searched the internet for days to find out that (especially here in Germany!),that there are compatibilty problems between the ATI output and some TVs and that the cables are wired differently in Europe etc.Anyway i tried various cables from various media sources and none worked.
I then found the above site.If you notice the Scart adapter detaches from the cable, leaving the svideo to rca and the audio cables.Plug in svideo to ATI output as normal and either the rca alone or with the Scart adapter into the TV.
The cable costs only 19,95 dollars and with postage to Germany(in my case) it was actually less than buying the same type of cable here!.
And it worked!I got colour.:-)

I use a Radio Shack Audio/Video Selector Switch, it happens to have 4 inputs,
S Video In and RCA out, IT IS ALSO A RF MODULATOR, works great. It seems in my experience the ones that have a RF Mod built in will convert the color signal.
