![]() I got an email last week saying that there was a glitch in the hoster program that would show an error on any zip files if a new book is generated...the email said that the glitch is repaired in the new version of hoster due to be released at the end of this month....my question is this...I have downloaded about a thousand zip files and have found quite a few that come up as an error when I go to play them...could this be caused from this glitch?...I have been deleting these files thinking they are bad...but now I am wondering if it might just be being caused by the glitch in the program...I also was wondering how I actually delete the songs from the hoster program...I am thinking that redoing the books will fix this so that the deleted file or number will stop coming up....but with this glitch I am going to wait for the new update before attempting to make new books....also wanted to add that this program is truly the best thing since sliced bread...I have been actually doing my shows with it for about two months now and I LOVE IT!!!.....thank you sooooooooooooooooo much.....

If you edited the titles or artist names after you imported them and then at some point rebuilt the database then those edited songs will not work.

bad zip files
I did have to edit the file names before the hoster program would import them...but I have not rebuilt the data base.....most of the files are fine but some of them come up as errors when I try to play them....still wondering if it is due to the glitch in the software.....

If you edited the filenames BEFORE importing them as KMA files, that won't cause any problems. If you used Hoster's Edit Songs... command (Tools menu) AFTER you imported as KMA files... AND... ran the Build Songs Database (Tools menu) after that, the bug would convert your HDZIP KMA files to CDCDG KMA file TYPEs, and they will show ERROR Status when you try to play these songs. If you have not used Edit Songs... command, or Build Songs Database command, then your ERRORs are not from the bug. The only thing we are aware of that causes a HDZIP KMA files to error out when played is if they are compressed with a program that uses MAX Compression. This is a new, unsupported (i.e. no unzip for it is available in public domain) compression and Hoster can't unzip it. There are some Threads in the Hoster Help Forum how to fix these, versus deleting them. If you don't have the original CDG disc to import from, you MUST fix the zip compression, and the Threads here can tell you how to do that. ![]() |
