Plextor Help

I just purchased a new Plextor PX-W5224A and Hoster will not recognize it. I followed all the instructions on the ASPI FAQ and tried all three drivers, with MTU and default driver settings in Hoster. I even updated the firmware on the Plextor drive. I have the Plextor installed on my computer as well as a DVD drive. I went ahead and set the Plextor as the Master drive. Nothing is working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Cory

Re: Plextor Help

What version of Hoster do you have? Does it show any drives when you click the Detect drives button, or are there any other drives in the system?

If you have run all of the ASPI items, the problem might lie within your OS or your Motherboard drivers. Try updating the Motherboard drivers from your computer Manufacturers website.

After you have done this, then Run all of the Windows Updates, from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Make sure that you get all of the updates, not just the Critical Ones, but all of the ones on the left under the 4 columns.

Re: Plextor Help

I have the new 3.006 version of Hoster. Hoster does not show any drives at all. I have the Plextor installed on my computer as well as a DVD drive... and I set the Plextor as the Master drive. I suppose I'll go ahead and install all the Windows updates and update the mobo software/drivers. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks,
Cory

Did you remember to set the jumpers on the drive?
