testing the demo; files less than 90 seconds

I created a disc with a file shorter than 90 seconds.(using khpro) It plays in Microstudio. I can't seem to import it using Hoster.

Is there something I should know??

I want to play a song from beginning to end. I am very interested in hoster's playing ability, given that other MTU products cut songs short when they play. Don't want to make anybody mad; I was hoping to do this test all by myself. Sorry

Re: testing the demo; files less than 90 seconds

It's been a while and noone has suggested a "fix" for my problem. Perhaps there is none.

It would be good if the next demo will allow someone to see how Hoster plays songs from begining to end since, unlike Microstudio, PLAYING the songs is one of Hoster's main functions. Perhaps a five song limit? Even if one downloaded the demo several times, they could never Host a show with it and backing up thousands of songs would not be worth it.

Anyway, adios

Re: testing the demo; files less than 90 seconds

Thanks for the recommendation. I, too, am happy with this company. Except for Hoster, I have purchased and own all their Karaoke software.

However, for whatever reason, I have come across glitches, in my mind, that are unacceptable in some of their software. As replies, I have received, either, assurances from happy campers (or not so happy) that the problems don't exist, or admissions from MTU that the problems do exist but they are not going to fix them.

(Instead of using the plural I can knock it down to one thing-the cutting short of songs being played, especially on Microstudio{which MTU advertises as a Karaoke Player})

If you have no experience with this problem, that perfectly illustrates my point. I want to keep this testing to myself until I am satisfied. Personal assurances will not be satisfactory to me since Hoster is more of an investment than the others, as it should be. This problem is only annoying in the other applications. However, in Hoster, it would seem to be disastrous.

I thank you anyway for your recommendation.

Re: testing the demo; files less than 90 seconds

Hi Jahern,

You've been able to test the first 90 seconds of a home brew cdg, now make one with the last 90 seconds of a song and you should have your answer.

As you know, you don't really even have to sweep it just to check the audio.

Just take the last 90 seconds of a .wav track, burn it on a cd, import it back to the hard drive as a CDG, NOT AUDIO, burn that to a cd, import it to Hoster, and play.

Take Care,

George

Re: testing the demo; files less than 90 seconds

You're right George. Since the Hoster DEMO failed to download a song less than ninety seconds and maybe we assume that it can't, the next logical step, is to create a song that is perfectly 90 seconds. (or close without going under)

If I go under then, I guess, Hoster DEMO will not download it.

If I go over at all, any cutting short of the song could just be attributable to the 90 second limit and may not show conclusively if the cutting short is a result of how the program plays a file, or if it's just the DEMO doing its thing. (So I guess I need to go over ninety, but only by a very small amount)

I have considered what you are suggesting and may very well do it. I might be able to satisfy myself on the issue. I just have to add some time on to the front of the song I have already made. Obviously the song that I have already made has the music cut short when played by microstudio. (I believe that Microstudio cuts all songs 2 to 4 seconds short; it's just whether the cutting short intrudes into the music or not. (That's when it becomes unacceptable)

Someone may yet tell me that the Hoster DEMO will download a song that is less than ninety seconds; I have to do X,Y, AND Z etc..

If not I will probably go for it. It just seems weird that a program DEMO for a player, doesn't show how it plays. To an extent, of course, it does. But given Microstudio's proclivities to cut short and the fact that Microstudio's player, we were told, is based on Hoster....well, fill in the blanks.

Anyway, good luck all.
