Data type conversion error 3421 importing

Hi,

I just started to import my first CD's with the new version 3.0, and after every track is read from my first CD (legends series #125 - eagles), I receive this error:

Hoster
Data Type Conversion Error (3421)

I looked at the help, and it appears to be a Microsoft Jet database engine error.

Is there something I can do to correct this problem, or is there a patch available?

**** EDITED NOTE: I just finished the first CD, and NOTHING imported from it. All the tracks are missing. I cannot import anything since the upgrade.

Thanks

Re: Data type conversion error 3421 importing

Hi Beavis,

No, I have not downloaded any windows updates (don't want to put SP2 on this yet) since my last import, nothing's changed on this notebook PC since the last good import except for the update to v3, but it was fine then.

This notebook is also my business PC, on which I have many accounting systems and development projects that I do for my 'daytime' business, so I rarely change it.

Windows XP Pro 2002 sp1, Toshiba Satellite Pro 2ghz, 512mb, 60g internal, 120g external, hoster 3.000.

BTW, the CD that did not "import" only did not get into the SONGS.MDB file... the KMA files are there, and intact, just no entries in the songs database.

do you use hoster for personal karaoke ?

i have not fooled around with the book yet. but i think you have to use the create button in the songbook for it to show up in the book.

BTW....did you get much snow up there last night ??? i live in the berkshires and we got about 4"

Re: Data type conversion error 3421 importing

No, for some local bars and some private gigs on a bi-weekly basis.

Nope, we missed the snow... only about 1/2 " here. Stinks. My kids wanted a white christmas!! At least it's "sort of" white now.

btw, I guess, since it's importing the KMA files, that I can "hand enter" the data into songs.mdb, but I really don't want to!!

Re: Data type conversion error 3421 importing

you really shouldnt use any old laptop sitting around the house to do karaoke shows. this is the problem with some people here.

i have only had one problem with hoster since i bought it back in 2002 (drop outs). the reason is i built a desktop for hoster only. no other programs are on it, except microsoft word & pcdjfx. i keep it up to date with microsoft and ATI (video Drivers) thus i have little to no problems.

you probably cant imagine how much spyware is on your laptop. this kind of stuff slows your laptop down and can cause problems.
