error creating kma file!
AARRGGHH!!!
Now I get this error message ; error creating kma file! This started happening after 130 discs. I thought it was the brand of disc, so I tried a Northstar Country and I still get the same message. What could I be doing wrong or what do I need to do to resolve this??? I couldn't access the Hoster manual online.. ![]() |

well, first the hoster manual is on your hard drive you just access it with your internet browser because it is written in html code.
check first to make sure your hard drive you are putting the .kma files in is not full. |

![]() The hard drive I am using a Maxtor 200G only has 25G used on it so far, so that isn't the problem. I just tried again and I am still getting the same error.
I have checked the manual and the forums and I can't find anyone suffering from this problem. Man I hope someone can help me figure this out. ![]() |

ARE YOU PUTTING THE .KMA FILES IN A DIRECTORY, OR IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF THE DRIVE.
THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF A DRIVE WILL ONLY ACCEPT x AMOUNT OF FILES, AND A DIRECTORY ON THE ROOT WILL ACCEPT ANY NUMBER OF FILES. COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM? TO CHECK TRY TO COPY A LARGE FILE (NOT A DIRECTORY) FROM YOUR C: DRIVE TO THE MAXTOR DRIVE. IF IT GIVES YOU AN ERROR, YOU WILL KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. SORRY THIS IS ALL IN CAPS, BUT I WORK IN CAP, AND DONT HAVE TIME TO RETYPE IT. |

my setup
Ok, here is how I have it setup.
Within the maxtor I created different files. ie; 1-99, 100-199, 200-299 etc. My current book is setup by Disc#'s, concurrent not actual. ie; D1, D2,D3 etc. I am hoping that this will intrigrate nicely with Hoster's bookID. So far so good on that note. So I have not uploaded the .kma's files to the root but to their seperate locations according to Disc#. I have 20G's reserved for retrospect and have only used 6+ gigs so far for the .kma files. So, whatcha think? |

Well, still for a test........
try to copy a large file from your c: drive (anything you choose) ..... to the maxtor: drive to make sure there is no disk problem. Bear with me, I'm Trying to help you troubleshoot this. if the file copys to the maxtor, then it is not a hard drive or allocation problem. when you finish copying the file, then erase it. if it doesn't then we will go from there. |

Ok, I will try that.
We have a gig tonight so it will be tomorrow when I can actually devote time to working on that hard drive. Thanx, you are incredibly patient!!! |

Could this be something as simple as the path to the songlist folder under the SAVE TO FOLDER box on the IMPORT TRACKS page has been corrupted and needs to be re-established?
Probably not, but it's a thought. George |

not sure
I don't think that is the problem, but I could always create a new folder and give it a shot.

![]() All you need to do is click your download link if you have 2.209 (actually, 2.1xx or higher).
Click here to see screen images or click here to see the changes from 2.209. When you install, first REMOVE the prior version USING HOSTER 2.212 installation program... NOT Control Panel. THen, run the installation program again to install 2.212. That is always the safest install, and using Hoster to remove first saves all your registration data so you don't have to type it in again. ![]() |

any resolution yet?
I have not been able to get anything done with my new Hoster software because of this error.
Is there anyway admin could look into this error and help to get me back online? I have followed gdns ideas and I have downloaded and loaded the upgrade and I am still getting the 'error creating.kma file' message. Won't someone please help me on this issue. |

w8ting4myship,
I would think that your problem that is causing this is due to the Save To Folder as George stated. The only thing that could cause this is if you have this folder set to your CD-Rom or CD-Recorder. Make sure that this Save To Folder is actually set to your External Maxtor drive. This is the only thing that could cause this problem.

Re: error creating kma file!
yesirree George!!
Somehow, don't ask me how at one point the drives got re-named. The ones I was having an error occur on were trying to write to drive E, and the actual drive is G. Could this happen if I plug the USB cables into different ports??? But yes, I want to thank all that put their heads together about this one and helped me get thru it. I have been able to get back on track with filling up my new drive with karaoke. |
