Not showing Songs

OK, never had this one happen before. Booted up the computer, opened up Hoster with a new disc to import in my USB Plextor 48-24-48 drive. Normally as soon as I click on a disc brand, such as Chartbuster Professional Country, in this case, the tray will close and the drive will read the tracks and show how many are there, and then I'll select the specific disc number. We now, the tray didn't close automatically, like it normally would. When I checked the detect drives, Hoster showed the drive and said yes in both columns, so I know Hoster detects the drive. But still it won't read the disc, even when I click on the read tracks tab. Is this a Hoster thing, a Driver thing or what. I tried reinstalling Hoster, but that didn't fix anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is teaching Granny to suck eggs.
Have you checked that your drive is registered in the default box in the Tools section of Hoster. I have come across this on a couple of occasions where for some unknown reason it doesn't show up. Incidentally it happens in Microstudio as well

Talking Mysteriously working now

Gary, I took your advice. The drive was selected as the default drive. I went into the import tracks tab this morning, and now everything works fine. I guess my Plextor just needed the night off, becasue everything works perfectly now. Go figure. Thanks for the help all the same.

Detecting CD Drive - FYI

Even though Hoster LISTED your CD Drive in the TOOLS/CD-DVD Drive Defaults MENU, you still might need to click on "OK" to make sure the setting gets accepted Globally.

Hope this helps,

Norm
