Crash
I have just purchased your product and installed it on a brand new Dell, with 512 MB RAM, 1.8Ghz, Windows XP home edition and DirectX 8.0. When I attempt to start the program the computer crashes and gives the message ***Stop:0x000000E(0xc0000005,0x804ECA2D, 0xEF8862D8, 0x00000000), after which I have to restart the computer. Is this a common problem?

Stop messages are not common
Lyonhart,
No, this is not a common problem. Stop:0x000000X messages ARE always related to conflicts between certain applications drivers AND the Operating System. There are dozens of Stop Error Messages. When you get one of them, the computer “stops,” just like the message says, you get a blue screen, and you have to reboot. You don’t mention which product or products you bought from MTU, however; you are running Windows XP Home Edition AND ALL MTU products run fine under this Operating System. Looking at your post I see you are running DirectX 8.0. MTU products require DirectX 8.1 or higher. Are you sure you are running 8.0? Windows releases updates almost everyday. Make sure you have installed all the latest updates; you can do this by running “Windows Update.” Please check your DirectX version AND posted it back. Here is a link about how to do this. John is correct on this. You need to have at least DirectX 8.1 or higher. Also you may need to go to your manufacturers website and update the Video drivers to the very latest version that supports at least DirectX 8.1 or higher. This could be whats causing the problem.

samething happen to me, I'm also using a Dell (Laptop) and I got the same message. Solution: Change the compatibility to a previous Windows version like 98. You need to right click on your mouse on the Microstudio Icon and go to compatibility, now choose what ever Windows version BUT XP. They're was no way for me to start the program, I even called Dell, they had no ideal what it was. I believe it's got to do with some of the Bios Dell is using In my case it was not the DirectX version. Good Luck & Let me know if it works Michel |
