Hoster 5.06.03 Frustrations ...
I installed Hoster 5.06.03 today and have been running a mock show for a couple of hours without any problems so far.
However, I have discovered a definite dislike and source of frustration... When I run my show, I keep the Singers Database open all during the show and minimize the Search Database and only open it as needed. Now that's impossible! Can anyone tell my why MTU combined these two functions? I see no advantage to this at all. I have found a way around this (sort of) by opening the Edit Singers Database screen on the Tools Menu and keeping it open, but when I need to open the Search Database again, it overides the Edit Database Screen! It's still open, but is behind the Search + Singers database. So, back to my frustration!!! Another question, why does Hoster put a Singers Database Tab at the left hand bottom of my screen when I minimize the Search + Singers Database? When you double click on it, it opens the Singers Database by itself, but you can't minmize or close it without opening the Search + Singers Database again and closing or minimizing it! Just more frustration!!! Since my hair is already white, it can't turn white, but it "can" turn loose!!!

Re: Hoster 5.06.03 Frustrations ...
Now that it is no longer always on top you can actually hide most of it under the search dialog by arranging it so that you just have a small amount showing, just enough to click on to bring it forward. I see what you mean though about minimizing it then it only opens the singers list, probably better off closing it then open again using Search+singers.
I personnally leave it open all the time and arrange the singers list as explained above.

Re: Hoster 5.06.03 Frustrations ...
Update on this, when you minimize the search as you say the singers window goes to the bottom left but if you click on the Hoster icon on the task bar another small window pops up showing Hoster & also Search for songs & singers. Clicking on this restores it as it was before you minimized it, if the search was on top it restores on top.

You lost me with this... When you minimize the Singers/Search screen, you get a single tab at the lower left side of the Hoster screen. If you double click on it, you only get the Singers Screen to reappear! And... Only the last Singer you had up will appear and you cannot change the screen to show any other Singers! This makes absolutely no sense at all!

When I click on this Hoster Icon the singers window that shrunk to the left disappears and I get what you see in my Attachment 2 selections pop up. Then selecting the bottom one of the 2 returns both singer & search.

Re: Hoster 5.06.03 Frustrations ...
For my two cents...I also do not like this "new" feature. I was just getting used to using both windows to keep two "singers" databases open and now this. Please change it back. Who requested this any way and more importantly WHY?

One from the Search + Singers and one from the Tools/Edit Singers database. I requested the bit to have it changed from singers list always on top, the reason was that I could have them showing more columns and just flick from one to the other hiding one under the other saving on screen space. The idea of combining the search+singers button was MTU. Partly because a lot of new users never used to know that you had to press the manila envelope to access the singers dialog.

It is easier to close the Search/Singers window and reopen it than to do what you are suggesting by your pictures. It appears that you minimize your Hoster screen and put those screens outside of that. I use full screen all the time. So what you are saying about the change in the function is if you're a new user, we make everyone else (older users) change the way they operate in order to accommodate your lack of experience! And... I've never used the manila envelope to access the Singers Datbase... From my point of view, there is absolutely no possible reason for making this change. Instead of making things more simple, it made them more cumbersome...

Re: Hoster 5.06.03 Frustrations ...
I used the manilla envelope every singer. For me this is a great change, as I always kept both databases open at all times.
A workaround if you do not want the search songs database open, just open the edit singer database instead and leave it open like you would the singer database.
