2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

hoster 5.05 has been running fine on laptop w/vista os
it's been running shows with no issues.

i JUST added new tracks and rebuilt database. now nothing will play.

i add songs to the play list. they say they are ready. when i click play they automatically change to "played" without actually playing. :o

this does this on auto and manual mode

have tried reinstalling and rebooting

have made NO other changes to system or program OTHER THAN checking the "do not remind me" box on the hoster popup to purchase latest version.

i'm really stumped and panicking

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

reinstalling hoster has not worked
deleting all songs and rebuilding database has not worked.

the songs appear "ready" but will not play :o

any ideas. does hoster disable itself if one does not purchase the next upgrade? this has never happened before and it worked just fine yesterday after i added new songs.

aaaahhhhhh

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

out of desperation i just purchased the latest upgrade and it STILL doesn't work :o

i wasn't actually planning on purchasing this upgrade.

i've spent around $1500 on mtu software & was going to wait until all the computers required upgrades at the same time to save confusion.

i don't want to find myself in this situation again. are all my computers going to suddenly stop working or is this just a fluke?

In your first post you state 5.05 has been running on your Vista computer.

5.05 is the latest so why would you need an upgrade

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

You should not need to rebuild database after adding new songs.

Are your songs on your C:/drive or an external ?
If they are on an external drive make sure the external drives volume letter hasn't changed from it's original setting.
check this from My Computer and note the directory letter, then open the songs database and look in the list of folders in the bottom left window below the add folders button, check that the folders directory letter matches. Also that all the folders are showing in this window before rebuilding again.

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

the songs are all on the C drive. i've made sure the folder in not read only and that hoster is pointing to the correct folder.

it shows that songs as existing... i can choose then and add them to the playlist ... they show as "ready" but if clicked they act as tho they were 'skipped' but leave a trail of "played" behind (if in auto mode).
in manual they just flash to "played"

Re: 2 hrs to showtime & hoster stopped working...

when i reboot and reopen hoster it will play the 1st song.
after that
all the songs in the playlist flash from 'ready' to 'played' without playing.

READY changes to WAIT then CUE then PLAYED but won't actually play
