Background audio file type and location

In windows media player, what do i specify for a location that I can use for the show? I created a song list to use for background audio, but when I try use it it only lets me pick one artist and not the whole list. i know I'm a bit new to the BA player but I need a little more detail on how to get the whole playlist into the BA. Thanks for any help!

And if this is the wrong thread, please send it to the correct location.

Re: Background audio file type and location

You don't do anything with Windows Media Player to use the BA player in Hoster. When you open Bkgnd Audio (the yellow button) there is a Browse button, selecting this brings up Windows explorer window to find an audio folder containing mp3 or wma audio files, you can't load playlist files from media player.
You select one folder at a time, you can make a folder if you wish with a selection of songs of your choice by copying and pasting from other folders but it will list them in alpha order in the BA playlist regardless of the order you place them in your folder, you can select any song to play next time or randomise them by clicking on the header bar several times.

Re: Background audio file type and location

I'll try and explain a way to put the songs in your media player playlist into a BA list but it's not how I would normally setup a BA playlist.

First off create a folder on your desktop by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop, a window should pop up, select "New" another window will open choose "Folder" you should now see an extra icon on your desk top named "New folder" If you want you can right click on the new folder and select "Rename" the choice is yours for the rest of these instructions we will leave it as New folder, we will place a group of music tracks in this folder to use in th BA player.
Open your Windows Media Player, as you say you prepared a playlist in media player load the playlist so you can see the list of tracks.
Right click on the first track in the list, from the window that pops up select "Open file location" in the window that opens you should see the track highlighted, again right click on it and select "Copy"
Now click the minimize button top right The "-" so you can see your desktop and right click on the new folder and select"Paste"
Repeat this process with each individual song from your playlist. This is going to take a time but as you don't seem to know were your music files are I can't tell you an easier way.

When you have a good selection in the New folder start Hoster, click on the yellow Bkgnd Audio button, in the BA dialog click the brows button in this window at the top click the little drop down arrow and select "Desktop" then double click on the New folder and it should open showing all the songs you loaded in it, press select button you should now see all these songs listed in the BA player

See how you get on with that.
