App Closes
App Closes
When I play a song it must close app when either stoped or it ends. I have a Desktop Vista 1.8 GHz 2.00 GB Hoster Version 5.04 |

Is this an upgrade from an earlier version ?
If so from which version did you upgrade from ? If it is a fresh install, did you follow all the recommended changes for your version of windows ? What type of files are you trying to play, Kma Imported from CD+G, mp3+G, etc ?

I had moved an earlier version to a different computer a while back. I now purchased a new licence and was installing 5.4 as a fresh install. when I installed 5.4 I was surprised to see that my old marquee and intermision image came up in 5.4. I am using KMA's. Yes I have made the chages for Vista.

Are all your kma files on the internal C/ drive ?
If so did you let it finish building the database at it's initial start up ? You should have seen a dialog informing you how many songs were added before Hoster opened the first time of running. If all your kma files are on an external drive did you have it connected the first time of opening and seen the same rebuild process as above ? The songs .mdb in this version has more fields of information than earlier versions so if the above was not carried out correct would stop Hoster working correct. The only other thing I can think of that could cause the must close thing is if there is another program running in the background that are conflicting with Hoster. One such thing could be a virus or spy ware application that triggers it, try disabling any such programs temporary to see if it still causes the must close problem. Let us know your answers after checking the above.

Ok The kma's are on extunal drive, the rebuild seem to work fine, all protecttion turned off, same problem. Could be related to directX versin being 11 instead of 10? I hope not cause I guess threr is no way to back up to a earier version.

I don't think it would be direct X.
What version of Windows media player do you have installed ? Just try this first Open C:/MTU/Hoster folder and delete the songs.mdb file. Then make sure your external drive is connected first then restart Hoster, it should start rebuilding the database from scratch which depending how many files you have can take a little time. After it finishes Hoster will open as normal. If the same problem exists at least we know it's not anything to do with the rebuild ![]() I can't think of anything else at the moment perhaps others have some ideas.
