Slow Importing

not sure why my importing is so slow. i even changed the CD drive to a new DVD drive and still super slow to import.

if i hold the mouse button on the header bar of the import screen it goes like lightning. the minute i let go of the mouse, back to snail !

any ideas ?

This was reported some time ago in this thread, I don't remember hearing of a remedy.
I see you confirmed it at the time.

i thought i would bring it up again because i thought maybe my drive was old. but the new one has the same results.
