upgraded to latest version of lite

I have two laptops one has the full version of hoster and the other has the latest update of hoster lite....I take this as a back up....when I try to load my .kma files into the database and add a folder...it gives me a warning that parameters are incorrect? How come I can't load my folder of .kma files into holster lite....I also notice the all the upgrades it has adding a bunch of new formats....when it means indexing...does this mean I can add...mp3's ...videos...and zipfiles to use on holster?

When you say latest version of Hoster Lite is it 5.03 ?
Was this upgraded from an earlier version Hoster Lite or a fresh install ?
5.03 database is not backward compatible with 5.02 or earlier but should be upward compatible.
What version is your full old version?

Re: upgraded to latest version of lite

I'm a bit confused here so just trying to understand what you are doing.
From what I understand 5.01 Lite was working OK, you upgraded this to 5.03 with your old hard drive connected that you use for the old version 4.xxx and I assume it worked and played OK.
Or am I understanding this wrong up to this point ?

When you first started this Hoster version 5.03 with your external drive plugged in it would have rebuilt the database to suit the extra database fields used in 5.03. Once this is done the songs.mdb can not be used in an earlier version.
Now you say when you try and add your kma files into the database

Are you trying to load more kma folders into version 5.03. or 4.xxx?
Are you trying to do this via the Build Database Add folder tab in 5.03 or by copying the songs.mbd as this last option won't be compatible.

What I mean by forward and backward compatible is you can use files created in 4.xxx and they will work in 5.03 but you can't use files created in 5.03 in version 4.xxx. to the best of my knowledge.

As to your other question, Yes the newer versions of Hoster support Indexing videos and mp3.

Re: upgraded to latest version of lite

One other thing I don't quite understand why did you update the light version that only allows 1 install ? If you had updated your full version you would be allowed to install that on 2 computers.

I had two laptops...one got stolen...I purchased a new one 64bit windows 7 and just purchased the new lite version compatable with 64bit....it was cheaper for me in time instead of buying the the update for the older full version...I cloned my harddrive from the songs I use on the 4.*** Verson. I took the cloned harddrive and plugged it into the 5.03 update it asked me to build database...when I went to add the folder of my .kma files it said wrong parameter...and won't load my .kma files....sorry I purchased the 5.01 never used it went to use it it had an update...so the 5.03 is the first time i even looked at the new program and try to add the songs...and yes it did ask me to load songs into datbase which I tried....I like my older version and didnt want to mess with it...so I purchased the new one also because it supported a lot more video and audio files....

Re: upgraded to latest version of lite

I have forwarded a message to Admin to take a look at this as I'm a bit stuck. If others have the answer they may post here, I doubt Admin will see it before tomorrow.
