Back To Song Last Played?

We have several long playlists for shows. Lots of times we'll look for a song midway the list or at the bottom of the list while one of us is singing. However, when we either stop the song playing or it completes playing the cursor jumps back to the song that was playing. Then we have to look again for the song we want to play next. Maybe it was a request we know is on the list or just "reading the crowd" and need to change from the original order.

Thought maybe the new release would have changed that but it doesn't appear to have done that unless I'm missing something.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Back To Song Last Played?

This has not been mentioned before as being a problem. I have never run into it for sure or haven't considered it a problem.
You can either post this with complete details in New Features or add it to the Report Problems with Hoster 5.01 here in the help.

Re: Back To Song Last Played?

Why don't you just drag it to the position in the list to play next ?

That makes since but it seems it would be much easier if we could just highlight the next song we want to play. I had the same problem that is mentioned. I believe it has always been that way in Hoster. I just accepted it.

Re: Back To Song Last Played?

I totally agree with being able to highlight the song you wish to play next. If the songs were being played in the order on the playlist the cursor would be where it needed to be anyway. You can (and I have) dragged the song up on the list but that movement while a song is playing increases the chances for a system hangup.

I have actually put a long playlist in alpha order so I could find what I wanted more easily.

I used to keep my Playlists in alpa order also, for several years, so I could use Playlists for dinner dances when I do all the singing. Since the Singers' database was created, I have created my Playlists in the order I wish to sing, but sometimes need to choose a differerent song because of the audience. I drag it up to appear after the current song, but I could also use the ability to just highlight the next song I want to sing instead of having to change the order of my current playlist.

Well I'm using version 5.01 and if I select a track anywhere in the list and highlight it then press play, it will play that song, when the song finishes it highlights the next song below that one in the list ready to play. What causes it to jump up to the first unplayed song in the list is if you hit any key before hitting the play button or selecting something else with the touchpad. You can use the search or add singers song and type a name in and it will still stay highlighted where I leave it.
Only if you hit a key before doing anything else will it return to the top.

Re: Back To Song Last Played?

Hoster used to allow us to highlight the next song we wanted to play and the song would stay highlighted. It was changed during one of the updated and although I did not like it I did not complain. I am not a complaining type, generally. I do wish this would be changed back to allow us with long lists to skip songs without having to wait for the song to end and then search for it in the play list. Can anything be done?

Roy what I think you are missing is if a song is highlighted and you press play there is no problem. What happens is while a song is playing and you scroll down to find a song you want to play next and highlight it, when the present song finishes playing it won't play the song you just highlighted but instead will switch to the next song after the one that was just playing. We want it to stay on the song we have highlighted that is further down the list.

Re: Back To Song Last Played?

I am closing this thread. Please carry on your discussion in the New Feature post about this by MimiLee since this was the original requester. I am not closing this for any other reason than that it needs to be in New Features in order to keep all requests in one place.
