How To Create Save and Then Open a Personal Playlist
I have created a play-list of specific songs that I want to keep, and then at a later date open the list and play them. I have moved songs from search, and did the "save as", but when I go back and try to open the list using the "open" and selecting the list I named, it will not open them.
When I put them in the singer area and save them I can then open them onto the play area one at a time. If the songs have a key change indicated, and I try to move the entire list at one time, the key changes for all the songs will be the same key of the first song in the group that I clicked on. So, while I can open a play-list via the "singer" group, it also has problems that make it too much work. I thought I could create different lists for special occasions, like X-mas July 4th, Valentines Day, etc, but after I create them and save them, they will not open. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help, Wes |

Re: How To Create Save and Then Open a Personal Playlist
I just had the same problem that "Wrahn" reported.
To take it a step further, I attempted to create new play lists, do a save as, cleared the song list and attempted to open the new list. I attempted this several times and nothing would happen when I tried opening the named list. I then clicked on the def001.hst file and the songs I saved on the named list would populate the play list area. It appears that no matter the save as file name, the play list will be saved as "def001.hst". I verified that by selecting different songs and going through the save as again (several times).

Best way to start is just add a couple of songs to the playlist and save it as test list 01 or similar. It's easy enough to delete once you have got the hang of it.

In addition to the above, i can confirm that everything works as it should on my vista pc. I can load a previously named and saved playlist, append lists together, rename, save, open, play etc. I can create new lists and perform all above functions. I have lots of old playlists which i keep in a folder C: MTU\Hoster\Playlists - keeps em tidy.

Create you list, do the Save As, then open by using New. That will clear the playlist. Then you can Open the playlist you saved.

![]() If you create a playlist and don't rename it , it will be automatically saved as default 01. The next time you create a list and do not save it it will be saved as default 02 etc. In addition to this, the last list you had open will not only be saved as whatever you have named it but also as default 01 - default 100 etc. You must close and reopen the program to see this.

Open singers list, select singer, from the list if you have a key change on one song in that list and you highlight that song first followed by holding the shift key and selecting all songs below it, when they move to the playlist they are all the same key change as the first one in list. I have no problem saving playlists with the Save As on my Windows 7 system.

Thanks for taking the time to "listen" to a customer's problem, investigating the problem and then taking the time and effort to fix it. While in the total scheme of things it's not a big deal, it does make your product better. Thanks again, Wes |
