Can’t reinstall the same version as before.
I used to have Hoster version 4.20. My computer died and now when I tried to reinstall, the highest version I can download is 4.11.
What is happening? And what can I do about it? Jim |

Re: Can’t reinstall the same version as before.
Submit a Support Email Ticket through the MTU web page. What has happened is MTU server is not recognizing the computer as the same one, because the reload changes the computer's identification.

Re: Can’t reinstall the same version as before.
Very upset with MTU. I already have and been using 4.20 for a couple years. Now, after my desktop crashes, I can only load 4.10 and they think they are doing me a favor by letting me down load that high of version.
I have sold 3 people on this program and this is what I get. They have to learn the difference between upgrade and update. If you have a 2005 Toyota and upgrade, that means you buy a new one. If you have a computer problem they update the one you have. I was told I have to upgrade to a new version to get support. |

I take it the 4.22 version (the one that says 4.22 -4.20) would not install? Sorry, but the 12 month upgrade requirement was applied last year.

![]() Our web site has a script that disables any RegCode when it is installed 100, 200, 300, etc. times. We VERY RARELY have any customer actually hit this limit. In fact you are the second customer ever to hit this limit... so it is set VERY HIGH for normal users. You hit this limit by installing and removing and reinstalling and... so forth. If you are transferring one copy of Hoster among your computers so often, maybe you should buy a second copy. Our products are not designed to install/remove 100 times, without warning us. Here is the error message you were presented when you tried to install 4.20 after your 100 limit was hit: "Your Registration Code was found disabled. The Installation program was closed and your Internet Browser is now showing http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/regcode-failure.htm with instructions what to do." On that page, you see this explanation: Why This Program Refuses To Install We are sorry you are reading this page as it means the Registration Code you entered failed to allow registering at our web site because of one of these reasons: 1. It was disabled by our web database script because it has been installed a maximum number of times, or 2. Our web registration script may have wrongly created too many records for your computer, or 3. It has already been installed on the maximum number of computers, or 4. It was disabled by MTU for various reasons to prevent installing again Below this are instructions of how to fix all the conditions above. If you had submitted a Support Ticket, Bryan would have solved it quickly. I'm responding in the Forum, where I saw your post by accident. Please understand, the Forums are not intended to get support that only MTU can give. It is for asking your peers "how to" questions, and helping them. I have reset your RegCode so you can now install 4.20... or 4.22 for free. If you try to download 4.20 again from our web site, you will receive version 4.22 for free. Version 4.22 and 4.21 have several bugs and added several new features. I'd suggest you install it instead of 4.20. ![]() |

Re: Can’t reinstall the same version as before.
MTUSUPPORT informed me after my post above that your "Install Date", set by your last upgrade order, was 3/3/2010. Hoster 4.20 and 4.22 "Install Date" is set to 3/5/2010.
Since your records proved you had installed 4.20 prior, your Install Date was changed to 3/6/2010 so you can install again. Our webmaster's script must have missed your 4.20 installation as it would have automatically set it so you could continue installing. We have had a few others with the same problem. Tens of thousands of records were updated. I'm just sorry yours wasn't. |
