![]() I am trying to get Hoster Lite 4.22 to work for a friend on her computer. I did all the required changes, she paid to update to newest version of Hoster, and hoster is running but it takes almost 1 minute for each song to play. It loads them quickly but takes forever to play. Anyone have any suggestions to help fix this? Please help!!

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
Is this data in the signature your friends Spec?
If so I see you are only on Service Pack 2, there is a 3.5. when you load that you will probably find other custom updates. Check your version of direct x I believe you need version 10 or later. Also I would go to the Dell website and search for any updates there, I believe there are some for that Model if you haven't already done them. To test a couple of other things temporarily while not on line, try disabling any spy ware program and see if the problem goes away. Also if you have early versions of Roxio cd copying program uninstall that and see if that cures it. Roy. |

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
How many songs are in the Songs Database? If you have Microsoft Access, you can open the Songs DB and view the last record ID number.
Be sure all the MTU strongly suggested and required changes are made to Vista, including the DirectX and Windows Media Player (WMP) upgrades. These can be found at: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/v...de-hoster4.htm Also, Roy's suggestions are valid. Be sure when you check for Windows Upgrades that you click CUSTOM, not EXPRESS. You'll be surprised what's needed that doesn't show up under EXPRESS. ![]() |

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
I also noticed there is only 2.00GB of memory. This is absolute minimum for Vista with 4.00 GB being much better.
Another thing to look at is how big is the hard drive and how much space is free? Should be a minimum of 25% free space. but 50% would be ideal.

Re: Taking Forever To Get Songs To Play
Thank you all. I'll pass the info on to her. I suggested that she increase her ram to 6. I think she's just going to get a new computer. Also tried to reinstall older hoster version and still had issues. I will let you know what changes she has made and if they worked. Thanks again!
