how does windows 7 compare to xp when using hoster or does it present problems like vista

Vista and Windows 7 do not cause problems as long as you follow the recommendations set down by MTU.
Of course XP still has the least problems because you don't have as much to set up for it.

Thanks Douglas I appreciate the reply, I was hoping that windows 7 would be the salvation for hoster use and I wouldn't have to keep searching for a unit with xp on it.
But I guess I'll continue my search for laptops with xp on them.
I'd really love to buy a mac and install my xp on it and use that for hoster but looking through the forums I see other people have tried to use windows 7 with a mac and run hoster but didn't have much success with that so I don't know if a mac with xp would work ok or not.
But anyway thanks for the reply and it looks like you have been at this quite a while, (that is using hoster)

Doug if you are looking for a laptop that you can still get XP on look at Dell in their Small Business section. There they offer XP,Vista or Windows 7.

I have been running Hoster on my Dell Latitiude E5500 running Windows 7 ultimate 32bit, with no problems whatsoever. As DDouglas recommended, make sure you apply the necessary changes with Hoster as if you were running VISTA.
FYI:Dell still has a lot of laptops running XP available in the outlet. That is where I purchased my Dell Latitude.

I have Hoster working on my Macbook Pro using Boot Camp and Windows 7 64 bit Pro. It seems to be working fine. I did notice a difference after installing Symantec. Just make sure you turn off all the virus checking/scanning stuff.....

Windows 7 is what I am now shipping at MTU. The main reason is that we found that it is STABLE. I have been using it on my Personal/Work computer and had no issues with it.

The major difference I found for Hoster is that on the Same hardware, my laptop, under Windows XP it took my system about 6-8 Seconds per song to run Remove Silence, on Windows 7 on the same hardware it now takes 1 second per song. Thats a HUGE speed up, in under the cover stuff that you do not see in Windows.

This is a main reason that we switched.
