importing singers disc

i did a show last night and i don't usually import singers disc, and it took me by surprise that importing singers disc was not the way it used to be but anyway.. i have this one regular singer that brings in her own disc, i imported one of her songs while someone was singing, the song that was playing went out of sync, after importing the singers disc, the song playing went back to normal..just wondering if anyone had experienced this before...but anyway 4.11 got me going again..

Have seen this sometimes too. Did a clean-up with System Mechanic and problem cleared. as usual the more going on the more likely problems like this pop up.
What is different about Importing Singer's Discs? The only thing that changed the location of the button.

yup the button location, took me a while to find it, since like said i don't realy import singers disc, my singer offered me to import her songs to my hhd, so that this would never happen again, i told her that i can't caused of legality issue, but anyway i started importing her songs at the very end of every song that was playing.

Atm if a singer wants to use there own disc, I plug in a small mp3 player for a few minutes, and let the people dance while it is loading. Then reset the computer and restart hoster. After that plug the computer back in and start singers again. It is a major headache yes, but you can do it.

Myself, I try and just ask singers to come see me after the show and I can load anything they might have that for some reason I do not.

Just to point out the obvious, if you don't own it then you cannot import it legally. It may be a convience for them to have you do this but it is not legal for you to have it on your drive except temporarily during a show.

I heard this use to be a problem with earlier versions. But hoster has always imported singers disc why someone was singing already. Even with me adoing it. At least onest a week i get out my laptop and just use hoster and test everything out like importing singers disc while one is playing. hummm...maybe thats why i keep my laptop and hoster so simple and uncludered...things just seem to run more smoothly.

tried to import a singers disc last night, since i was having a problem importing singers disc using my int. cd/dvd drive last time, (song stopping for a few sec. and song playing goes out of sync) i've been using my ext. one, didnt have any problem in my last 2 shows, but last night did all the steps in importing singers disc, and i keep getting an error : couldn't find track 3 on the disc..i've been importing the same disc, same track for a while now from regular singer's disc and didnt have problems before..

Billy things like this are going to happen. Disks wear out (reason why we don't use originals), get dirty, scratched and abused because people do not know how to treat them. They have been told that disks are permanent and indestructable, so they don't take care of them like they did their vinyl records and tapes.

Billy i think dale has kinda hit it right spot on. Even if you are very careful with "Compact Disc", they will get scratched. Believe it or not, just taking them in and out of their jackets actually puts fine micro scratches on them. So it doesn't even have to be a case of abuse, rather could be a case of not using proper handling precautions, and old age. That is one of the reasons i decided to start using hoster, {among many other reasons} and i'm glad i did. I have actually had a couple of singers bring me CD+G's, that i refused to even load into my drawer so sticky, scratched, and dirty. Microstudio, and a good...i stress good writer will very often get that one last play, so you can back up and save that cdg...thank goodness. It's saved a lot of mine. There are a few good products out there to help restore CD's. A couple have actually worked...most don't.

my personal disc are in excellent shape, and i also made a copy of them ( all in 6, 120 or more cd binders ), i only used them for a few months, till like you i decided to get Hoster, i have a disc cleaner ( Skip Doctor) that brought some of my disc back to life, i don't really import singers disc, it's just she's my regular and i can't find the same disc she has, i already bought some of the same disc she has, it's just that one particular song i cant find..( broadway tunes )
