To Admin... or whoever can help
This may sound like a dumb question... but, I just ordered a new laptop and I need to get another copy of Hoster. Am I required to purchase another copy for two computers or can I get just the one copy I need for the new laptop? Don't need 3 copies when I only have two computers!
P.S. Hoster rocks!!!!! |

That depends on which version you bought. If it's not Hoster Lite, you can install it on two computers. Hoster Lite (not Lite Duo) is the only version that installs on one computer only.

Each license for Hoster full can be loaded onto 2 computers. Each license for Hosterlite is for 1 computer. So if you only have 2 computers that you want it on and have Hoster full then you are good to go.
If you have it on two computers now and are taking it off of one then you can install it on the new one. Be sure to be online with any you are going to remove or install.

Got one more question. I just ordered a Dell Inspiron 15 and it comes with an integrated Intel video card. I'm told by Dell that I can't upgrade the card to an ATI Radion 9000 or higher since the card is integrated. Is that going to be a problem for my display???

But Dale and madjim are the best to answer questions. ![]() (I thing our Government should ask these guys how to balance the budget. I'll bet they could straighten it out. They are THAT GOOD) ![]()

It states on the Video Hoster page "Video Hoster can install on your show computer AND a backup computer any number of times, for a total of TWO (2) computer installations, while the new QUAD product installs on 4 computers." That doesn't say anything about a test computer. He said he had only 2 computers he needs one license for the pair.
Now my thought would be if you are doing two shows with just two computers and no back-up you are living rather dangerously.

I believe you know what I was getting at and you can split hairs over what you call the second computer if you want. I just did not want him to think it was alright to run two show computers with one license at the same time. this is what it sounded like to me in his post as he NEEDED, NOT WANTED to run a second computer without stating the purpose. I don't use my second computer for a backup although I could if I wanted. It has too many programs on it and too much clutter. I have my show system backed up on a cloned drive and there is nothing else on it except for what has to be there. If something happens to the system drive with Hoster on it, I just reboot and start up on the extra drive. My music songs and Hoster songs are on separate drives and are cloned to extra drives the same way. If someone would buy a quad license, I believe that would allow them to run two show computers at the same time with the program on two other computers for backup or test or just to sit there. gpayne |
