How to reset automatic zip file conversion
Reposted from a reply by Dale
Use regedit and change (modify) the following setting: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Default\HDZipFiles Converted. Right click on it and choose Modify. Change Value Data to 0. This will reset the conversion to run again. |

Hving problems with this too
It would appear that my automatic zip file converter has never run!
When I tried to play a kma file imported from a hard disk zip file hoster tells me that I need to unzip my files. When I ran Regedit the value data was still set to 0 ![]() |

Further news
I am running Hoster 4.03 on both xp and Vista Home on two separate laptops.
I use the XP as my main machine and the Vista as an emergency backup (not yet required! touch wood). I have not extensively tested on Vista but this is what is happening on XP. I can select a KMA song that has originally been imported from a zipped file. This file will play and show as HDZIP. If the software is closed and then reopened the file still shows but is then identified as HDMPG3 and will not play! The question is why does it do this? Could this problem be fixed by proper recognition of file type? This could be a question for ADMIN possibly. What it means to me is that I have to re-import my files from the CD as I no longer have the original zip files. I have noticed that I can re-import disks over the top of the original KMA HDZIP file and will report on the results (I am doing this as I write.). Is there a possibility of manually running HDZipFiles Converted? Does this work only as you load each song into Hoster and not change the actual file? There are as usuall more questions than answers. Cheers in anticipation ![]() |

Last update?
After writing over KMA with new import it now shows as CDCDG in the file type and works flawlessly even after crashing (I simulated a false crash by End Task in Windows Task Manager.).
Wouldn't mind someone posting on the questions (answers) or disabasing me on any false beliefs I may have (about hoster of course!). Cheers ![]() |

If you were re-importing from the zip files they would convert as they import to MP3+G and show as HDMP3G type. Since you are doing it from the CDs then they will show as CDCDG type.

Thanks for the help Dale but...
If you look a bit earlier in the thread I did use regedit on HDZipFiles Converted and found that it was still set on 0. I assumed! that meant it has never been run. Is there a tick box in the options somewhere that will allow this to run. Does it go to the kma file location and automatically convert all the HDZips or just change it when you select it for your show?
Sorry if I sound a bit Thick on this but I am certainly confused! Cheers Albert |

No there is no way from within Hoster to start the conversion. Yes it is supposed to go to whatever your location for the KMA files are and convert them. Let me check with MTU and find out if I am giving the correct registry location that needs to be reset to make it run.
If you know which files are zipped you could use Songverter to convert them from KMA zipped to KMA MP3+G type. Then rebuild the database in Hoster.
