![]() I updated my laptop "Comp.#1 below" today to 4.03 for 4.02 and now the lyrics are out of sync. Even hoster 3.4 is out of sync.
I uninstalled hoster 4.03 and reinstalling 3.21, same results. So I uninstalled 3.21 and installed hoster 4.03 again, lyrics still out of sync. I have all current updates. Sigh:( I Have two shows Friday and need both of my computers. Please help. Tim

This usually (lately anyway) hass been a case of out of date drivers for the video card. Go to the laptop maker's web site and see if they have updates for the video and audio cards drivers.
The other thing may be the amount of memory and speed of the laptop. If you did the Auto updates that is not all you need to do. You need the custom updates from Microsoft's Update page. These will include SP3 (XP) or SP1 (Vista), Internet Explorer 7, etc.

I'm still having some out of sync issues also. It seems to happen when I am trying to rush it. 1 specific instance tonight:
I called up a singer who was not there, so I called the next singer and hit stop and immediately hit play on the next song (should have used skip). The lyrics then lagged. I shut down Hoster and restarted the program and immediately hit play as soon as I could to keep the show moving. Lyrics again lagged. I shout down Hoster and restarted, this time waiting for a few seconds, hit play and all was well. |

I had the lyrics go out of sync using 4.03 one time tonight and I have everything that is needed.
![]() This is the first release since they started using the old player again. They'll get it back to rock solid in no time. ![]() ![]() Jim ![]()

I find when I use Manual mode to run my show, I may get the out of syc once a night but never more than that. A restart of Hoster always fixes this and I don't see it again for the rest of the night. Try running your show (do a test show) in Manual mode and see if Hoster stays in sync for you. Just a thought. Jim ![]()

I was running Hoster 4.03 in auto mode last night to test it. I have to agree with Goonie about using manual mode. I believe this gives Hoster enough time to get it's next song up and do all of the other cool stuff. ![]() There's just so much going on in Hoster 4. The show display alone has to switch from the lyrics screen to the intermission screen and make all of the changes to it. Scroll, no scroll, picture etc... Let's see if we can find a combo of actions that makes the lyrics go out of sync every time (may not happen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks Jim ![]()

You da man
Jim,
You boldly go where no others dare to. You painstakingly try to ruin a song....just for our sake. You twidle the buttons and tweak the "tweakers" unlike any karoake show host would (or should!) Thanks for all your work on the betas brother.....it sure does make a lot of us more comfy when we upgrade.... ![]() --GMANN |

Ok I reinstall 3.21 and updated the drivers, I'm still having the same prob.
However I remembered that when I first bought hoster two years ago I was having the same probs. The fix then was to hit Start/Run/dxdiag/I click on the sound tab and just move the acceleration slider up or down and hit exit, and it works fine. At some point i didn't have to do this anymore. So hoster fixed the prob in one of there upgrade I suppose. Does anyone remember the solution to this little quirk? \ Thanks, Tim

You need to upgrade again to 4.03, after you know everything is working right again. Could have been a glitch due to the order in which things were upgraded, installed, uninstalled.

This is how to slow down the Hardware acceleration of your sound card. This can fix problems with the graphics being out of sync or not playing back correctly with the audio. 1) Click the START menu
2) Left click RUN. 3) Type in DXDIAG, and click OK. 4) At the top, click the tab marKed SOUND (may also be Sound 1 or Sound 2). 5) There's a slider marked Hardware Acceleration. 6) Click on the pointer and move it to the left until it shows Basic Acceleration. 7) Exit the program. 8) Now try your software again. The audio and graphics should now be in sync. You can also try setting the Colors in the Display settings to 16 bit color, there used to be a problem with some video cards that made this occur. You can get to this by going to Control Panel\Display properties. Then click on the settings tab and change the colors to 16 bit. |
