When you say you cannot get a "clean Copy" does that mean you are getting a copy that is in some way corrupted, or not getting a copy at all, or what. It would be helpful for anyone trying to assist you to know what operating system you are using, how much RAM , type of video card(and how much memory it has), type of burner, which version of Direct-X.
If you are uncertain regarding some of these specs you can get them by clicking on "start", then "run", then type in dxdiag then enter. Take care, George Last edited by George; March 5th, 2002 at 09:07 AM. |

Just a guess here...
Clean your reader, reduce your read speed.

I am using Windows XP, 8.1 DirectX, AMD1G Processor 240MB Ram 16meg S3 ProSavage After I record cdg tracks on hardrive, when I play them back they are completly distorted and unreadable I am using Yamaha 24X burner. I have adjusted the read spead down to 1 and still get corrupted results. My computer only has OS and Microstudio. Maxtor 7200 RPM 80 gig

Not sure if your post mentions what sound card you are using. If it is Sound Blaster Audigy, you need to install only the drivers. Additionally, when using Window XP, you need to go to compatibility and use Windows 98. If you haven't done this, you need to installed the proper ASPI drivers.
Also, since you got Windows XP, check the error log, that sometimes help to isolating the problem. Lets us know how you doing. |

Its the Yamaha 24x CDR
Microstudio doesn't support the Yamaha CDR drives after the 8824 model. Yam changed their interface format, making it incompatible with other drives. I'm 99% sure that is your problem.
One other thing to mention, you listed a "S3" video system. This company is out of business and thus the drivers are not available for current windows versions, and Direct-x drivers. We do NOT recommend this video chip. If you have problems playing a CDG file from the Microstudio Play tab (either from a CDG disc or the hard drive), that is the reason. |
