Question convert HDZIP files

I have run this a number of times to clean up all the bad zipped files.

It now burns through it and there are none that are left to be converted. But the HDZIP files display still comes up. (19,152 records)

When I get to about file 1,000 I get a window which says
Error Allocating windows memory and maybe that's the reason the Convert HDZIP files window continues to appear.

Once the conversion is done everything works fine, but it would be nice to not have to do this conversion everytime I bring Hoster up.

What do you think I need to do

It needs to get through it so you can close Hoster down normally. This will save the fact that it has been run and won't pop-up again.
Not sure if this is a memory problem or if it is involving virtual memory (space on the hard drive). Try opening Task Manager before you start Hoster again. Watch the performance tab and see how much your memory goes up and how much processor per centage is being used.

I did this as you requested, the performance tab does nothing significant. I have better than 70% free space on my C disk. and better than 50% free space on my external hard drive.

The CPU usuage peeks at about 3%, so this makes no sense to me.

The zipped files have all converted successfully. So why doen't the display go away like it says it will?

Thanks again, Stu

If I recall, there was a check box on the converter window asking about back-up. Did you check this?

The physical memory on the Task Manager does not change at all.

I believe the error message is a Hoster error message.

Hoster
! Error allocating Windows """ memory

OK

Once I press OK it goes on to the end of the file.

The very first time very slowly while it's converting. When I reached a bad file and fixed it, it would go fast to that point and slow until it reached the next bad file and so on.

After all the files were converted successfully it will go through the entire file quickly. It will go through the first 1,000 songs or so quickly and get the message above, then after hitting OK it go through the remaining 18,000+ song in about a minute or less.

I have checked a boat load of songs and they are all working fine.

I could be wrong but I don't think it has anything to do with memory.

Thanks, Stu

Somewhere in there at the 1000 file there has to still be a bad file that is causing this.

Just for something to try, If you have MS Access, open songs.mdb and look down file type column and see if one of them is still HDZIP. If you don't have Access, upload the file here and I will look.

And/or it will tell you what song that record number is that Hoster gets stuck on.

I have the same problem, as it was converting it gave me the me "Error Allocating windows memory" several time. I fixed the bad zips, opened hoster the conversion program ran, still got the memory error. I click ok and it goes to the end. The problem is that the nag screen comes up each time i open hoster.

My show went fine. Hoster 4.01 and 4.02 works well for me, never any problems.

This message does not go away, it only takes a minute or so but it's still annoying, is there any hope!

Could it have something to do with the number of records that need to be converted.

It always stops at record 770, I don't know if it's going through this file alphabetically, but remembering the bad zip files I had I think it does. I checked from 720 to 820 and the songs were all fine??

You do understand that the number refers to the record number in the Songs database and not the BookID? To find out what bookid it is you will have to open the Songs database in Access.

I don't have access and wouldn't know what to do if I did.

I personally don't think it is a bad file, I think that because I'm getting this message from Windows the Hoster conversion process thinks there is a bad file when there is not.

I'm not getting a Hoster error and if it was a bad zip file I think I would get that error??
