Hoster 4.00 on Vista lyrics to slow or fast for music

I have a Dell 1525 w/4GB RAM 2.1,
  • Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (Shared),
    • Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz ,
    • Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset 448MB
    • Memory 4096 Mb

  • Microstudio works fine but the new Hoster 4.0 doesn’t synch the music with the lyrics.

I read that Hoster 3.40 works but I couldn’t find it to download.

There is a 3.21a but I wasn’t sure if it would work.

I would much prefer to get the Hoster 4.0 to work.

The instructions for fixing the sync problem given in the user’s manual doesn’t work in VISTA.

    What am I doing wrong?

3.4 is included with the 4.0. The file is in the Hoster folder under the Program Files. It is Hoster34.exe. Create a shortcut to it on your desktop and you can use it.
You say you have 4.0, so is it 4.00 or 4.01. If not get the upgrade free and try that. 4.00 and 4.01 have problems with Vista because the Vista requirements are different from those of XP. MTU released 4.00 and then 4.01 with the qualification that Vista may not work.
MTU is working on 4.02 now to fix the Vista problems and others that have been noted.

Thanks,
I tried 3.4 and it seems to work. I will try 4.01 to see what problems it has. Thanks for your help.

Hoster 4 is not Vista compliant at this point which is partly why the 3.4 is bundled with it.

Microstudio uses our older "Lyrics Render" code that syncs perfectly, and the same code is in Hoster 3.321a and prior.

Hoster 4.0x has a totally different "Lyrics Render" code, written so we could do Tempo SPEED UP. What a DUMB move on my part as the Pres.

Today, we start moving FORWARD by RETURNING to using our prior code. Heck with Tempo speed up. We are scrapping our new DirectX lyrics render code because Miicrosoft's products (DirectX, WMP, IE) are so bloody complex that we... seasoned expert programmers, after 10 months of trying, can't make them work together.

Lord willing, we'll have a 4.03 Beta 1 out next week for out testers. Only functional change will be our older lyrics render code integrated into our new Show Display, in a way that it will work, and still provide all the other feature upgrades.

You took the path that appeared to have the most possibilities down the road. You did what you felt would give your customers a superior product. Little did you know............

Don't be so hard on yourself, as maybe the only person who has used Hoster 4 at my shows since before the release date, I have to say you guys have done a jam up job. Hoster 4 is a dream for running a karaoke show. I just wish it ran as well for everybody else as it does for me.

The things that don't kill us, make us stronger. WE'RE STILL BREATHING!

With all respect, you guys deserve a round of applause! A toast to MTU, HERE HERE!

Jim
