Is Hoster Pro enough?

Hi. I have a large CDG collection that I would like to copy to hard disk in order to protect the CDGs. I plan to only use the hard disk system at home and for private parties. (I am not a karaoke host). I'll still take the CDGs out to bars to sing.

I've looked around at various hard disk software and Hoster looks to be the best. It may cost a bit more than a few of the others, but the others have "issues" and Hoster is not expensive.

My question is if Hoster will do everything I need to import and mange my CDGs or if I also need Microstudio or other MTU tools. I do not intend to make copies of my CDGs (the hard disk is the copy). Nor to I plan to strip vocals off regular music and create my own lyrics, etc. I'm just wondering if I will need microstudio if Hoster has problem reading some of my CDGs.

Thoughs?

Randy,
Hoster will do everything you want to do with your CDG's. You will load your disc (karaoke tracks) into Hoster which turns them into KMA files and stores them on your hard drive. For your needs, just get Hoster.

Hoster 4.0?

Thanks Jim
That was what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure.

My schedule won't give me time to transfer much until next January, so I was thinking of waiting until Hoster 4.0 is available, but looking around the site I don't see much discussion of 4.0 except that there will be architectual changes. Any ideas when 4.0 will be release and how it will differ from 3.321?

I believe that 3.321 will do everything you need. 4.0 should be out soon, MTU is working hard on it's release. I'd get 3.321 and upgrade to 4.0 when it comes out if it has new features you need.

I hope this helps.

If the money is not that tight get the Microstudio so when you go to the clubs to sing take a custom disk with you instead of scratching your originals. Then you only have to take one disk with a bunch of your favorites on it. Been doing that myself for a long time. Once in a while the wife and I like to go out and check what others are doing and get some good ideas.

custom CDs in clubs

Excellent idea, however, clubs here (Canada) won't play home-made CDGs. It's originals by known manufacturers or nothing.
