Microstudio 4.006 problem

I was helping a friend install Microstudio 4.006. We did the 1st disc under "DUPLICATE DISC" and it worked fine We tried the next disc the same way but this time it went through all of the read and write and it left a completely blank disc We then tried to import the tracks and the result was the same there is nothing on the disc after the finalization

Can anyone help??

Does Microstudio show the drives as both Read and Write capable? You may want to run the drive test anyway to make sure.
Make sure he/she has all the Custom Updates (not just the Automatic updates) from Microsoft. And check the drive manufacturers for any firmware updates.
Also, check to make sure that the Roxio or Nero programs don't have anything in the Startup on the Start menu. Those programs have been known to hijack the drives for strictly their use.

I did notice that there was a pop up while I was starting the process. What is the best way to stop this? Microstudio appears to read the source and if you go by the progress bar it looks like it is recording. The end result is a blank disc.

What was on the Pop-up?
Have you done all the items I listed?

was the progress bar moving, caused i noticed last night when i was re-importing ,it read the disc and the progress bar just blinks, and it shows that the songs were imported, but when i played the song, nothing just a blank screen for a sec..so when i used my ext. drive, the progress bar was actually going to the process, and everything went fine..the problem i think was that my int. cd/dvd drive is not ms supported..driver/firmware updates didnt help either..

Thanks for all of the help. I will try to visit the machine tomorrow and disable the nero on the start. Weather here looks bad for the next 5 or 6 days so I may not get to it right away.
