New Plextor drives - any information?
I checked the datasheets for Plextor's new models - PX755SA & PX760A. Both specify CD+G support (not read-only like the PX750 models). Is there any information that they do both read/write CD+G? Has MTU started looking at Microstudio support for these drives yet? Thanks!

Yes, Microstudio 2.613 will support the 760 drive for sure. We have this one and tested it and it works fine.
The 755 should work, it was supposed to be the 760 drive, but it wouldn't allow 18x DVD burning speeds so it was REJECTED. This is what I was told from a very high source. It then became its own Model to get rid of the Inventory that was accumulated. They did say the 755SA Drive will be around as its a production drive, but the A and UF, seem to be the mistake drives from what I was told.

Bryan,
Best Buy is carrying the PX-755A & PX-755UF. I saw them yesterday on the shelves, but don't remember the price. I was going to pick one up for a new system I'm building, but thought I better check first since MicroStudio isn't up to version 3 for a while.

Microstudio 2.613 released today. We don't have download links upgraded yet as we want to see what a few more users find.
We converted our source code to VisualStudio.NET 7.0, which is Microsoft's latest and greatest. However, there is some question as to whether users should install .NET Framework 1.1, or 2.0. We were shocked to discover that all our new releases compiled under .NET now require users to have .NET Framework before our code will run... and the error messages are no help at all to discover .NET Framework is required. I expect that by next Weds we will have the download links converted over that have free access to download 2.613. However, try your link now... Dale, you will need to use your yahoo.com email to install... |

Dave,
Understand about email. I am not going to upgrade my existing copies as I am using PX-716A for both and they are working just fine. I was wrong about the PX-755 drives in previous post. I went back to Best Buy and the one they have is the PX-755SA (SATA) drive. Do we know if that one will work or do I need to wait and get a 760? I am trying to get a new computer up and running and haven't picked up a DVD burner for it yet.

The 755, we are not sure. I have seen one customer post they had a 750 and it seemed to work.
I know that the 760s work fine though.
