![]() Since there is safety in redundancy, I have cloned 3 external hard drives with all of my kma files and DJ mp3's.
In the process of re-indexing in Hoster, I have encuntered 6-error 3315 messages...something about a mfgr field not being blank. Since the "Help" also returns an error, I have no idea what is going on. I have inspected the database files using the record numbers cited and can find NO errors in any of the fields, particularly in the mfgr field. In fact, there are NO blanks in any of the fields. I suspect that the error exists in the kma file header, not in the DB, but am unsure as to how to fix the problem, if indeed it needs to be fixed. I have manually re-entered the data in each of the records and re-indexed with no change in the error(s). I have also re-imported the songs from a different sources and I get the same results, just a different record number when reindexing. Am I paranoid or do some of the songs hiccup when converted from either zip/rar or bin ??? It doesn't seem to happen when importing cdg disks, only when I import files and not very often at that. The songs appear to play OK in MicroStudio...but so far I have not played them as part of a show. Current Hoster version is 3.321 Any suggestions?? DC |

Is your total number of records correct or is it 6 short? I had 10 do that to me and it doesn't actually add them to the database because there is a problem with those files. I believe the log lists them as duplicate IDs though they really aren't but at least it lists the diskID - track so you can find them. Check the title and artist fields in the original file name and make sure none are more than 63 characters. If they are then shorten them to 63 maximum. Then re-run the import for those.

The total record count in the dbf is 9331 and when we do the re-build, the count is 9331. There are 9331 kma files in the directory.

If I am correct in assuming that the numbers returned represent the record number in the DB, then the title/artist fields are within the specifications, the longest one being 29 characters.

Bob:
The same thing happens when I refresh. I am aware that to click "no" lets is proceed, but it bugs me when I can't figure out why something is happening. I have even gone so far as to merge and re-index. Still the same results -- 6 errors with no reason. DC |

Bob:
Misread your post...I am able to refresh in MicroStudio with no problem, only occasionally the first 4 songs have no title/artist info. If I enter them in MicroStudio, all is well. My main gripe with MicroStudio is that it only reads the first file if the import directory is a zip or rar. Convert them to mp3G or bin and it works fine. DC |

What program are you zipping them with?

I have tried WinZip 10.0, WinRAR and SongVerter, but most commonly, I use MP3+G Toolz. The results are the same for any of these programs. MicroStudio will not recognize anything but the first file in the directory.

I take it you have tried using the Refresh Button to see if it would pick them up?

We'll try to take a look at this today. We have a scheduled upgrade for Microstudio happening this week.
This is the first time I'm aware of this, so thank you for reporting! ![]() |
