Vista (Ultimate) question.

I have installed the Hoster version 3.315 on a Vista Ultimate machine. The Hoster directory contains the sub directories Data, Databases, English, German, Japanese, Manual and the files DistrObj.dll, End User License Agreement, Hoster and zlib1.dll. There were no directories listed for Songs, Songbook or Playlist. At the top of the window there is the usual Organize, Views, and Burn option tabs and a new one called Compatibility Files. When I click on Compatibility Files the existing files disappear and the missing ones show up. I can then brows to the songs directory, etc. Just curious if anyone else has seen this and what “compatibility files” means.

"Organize, Views, and Burn option tabs and a new one called Compatibility Files" are not Hoster tabs. This has to be something Vista is doing. Try checking your Help for Vista to find out about the Compatability Files.

It's definately a Vista thing.

Iv'e dealt with this with Home Premium
For some reason Vista will show bucket.MDB but not the songs or songs backup.MDB (in the database folder) unless I click the "compatability files" button at which time songs will show up but bucket will disappear.

I've found a whole host of things I don't like about Vista, especially the fact that I have to go through 4 separate confirmations just to create a new empty folder. Major pain in the backside.

Sorry I don’t express my self very well. I know it is a Vista thing but what is it about Hoster that invokes this chemas-microsoft-com:officemarttags" />t="on">Vista thing? It doesn’t happen on any other program (so far). t="on">Vista is without a doubt the most secure OS so far but the handholding that accompanies it is getting old fast.

I agree. The more I hear about it the more I want to stay away from it but know I will have to someday.
Does this pop up everytime you open the program?
I'll do some research on Microsoft Technet and see if there is a way to make it go away.
